That is good to hear skb! Glad she is doing as well as she is.

The best for the beds is straw, so I've been told and read too. They do like their cardboard boxes, but the boxes absorb a lot of moisture, then collapse and the whole thing eventually has to be thrown away. With the coolers when the straw gets damp, I just change it and the cooler still remains. It is ultimately more efficient.  They like to sit on top of the boxes, but I noticed today several on top of coolers that I put a bit of blanket on sunning themselves.

They like the boxes because they can see out more but the coolers warm up inside from body heat and really keep them warmer. They are still adjusting to having so many, but as the snow really comes, I'm sure they will be glad for them.

It has been quite the adventure so far and a lot of work. Hopefully by next Spring I'll have all the kittens fixed. The TNR people swear that will be the end of kittens if I do. But there are so many other ferals around that I don't think that will ever be reality...

130 this morning. sigh...

Yesterday's high was a surprising 45°, with quite a bit of sun! Today's forecast is about the same (I hope) 42°/29°. May have a light snow Fri night into Sat morning but then back to the current weather pattern.

Nothing on agenda today except maybe tidy up the decks...

101 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 62° and we did get a small bit of rain last night, just under 1/4 inch so not a downpour and there is a chance of more tonight.  Soma areas of Southern California got quite a bit of heavy rain and some flooding.
I have an appointment today to have the surgery on the skin cancer on my neck so glad to have that done and finished. 
Glad to hear from you SKB and that you are OK. 
Looking forward to the days getting longer now.

142 this morning. Sheesh!

Yesterday's high was 42° and a fairly nice day. Today's forecast is 42°/28° mostly clear. A dusting of snow maybe after midnight then supposedly many more days of nice weather. No white Christmas here...and that is OK by me!

Another take it easy day. The only Christmas shopping I have to do is order gift cards from Amazon. That will be today's job. Too bad we don't get any credit for those!

Hope all went well with the surgery Wally!

106 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 61° and no rain yesterday or last night.  There is a small chance of some rain later today but not much if any.
The surgery for the skin cancer went quite well and only took one cut so it didn't take too long.  I am glad to have that one done.
Nothing much on my agenda for today either, just getting some rest.
I did my Christmas shopping a couple of days ago and the same, Amazon gift cards.

120 this morning.

41° was the high yesterday and there was a good amount of sun. Today's forecast is 35°/16° partly cloudy. Overnight there was supposed to be a light dusting of snow, now it says it will be around 8AM for an hour. It is too dark to tell now if there was any. I don't want to get the kitties riled up too early by turning on any outside lights.

Hoping for a quieter day, only time will tell I guess.

105 this morning.  We had a high of 55° yesterday so cooler, not cold but cooler and that is about where we will be for the next few days.  The rain is gone for now and nothing in sight for the near future.  It was really foggy this morning with the wet ground.  We rarely get fog here.

143 this morning. Not much movement from bedtime. sigh...

The high yesterday was 35° with just a light sprinkle of rain then a few flakes of snow early morning. No white Christmas here this year! I'm OK with that!  Today's forecast is 31°/13° mostly clear.

On the news last night the weatherman was showing historical temps from 40 years ago. The lows blew my mind! The one closest to me Missoula had a current low in the 20's in 1983 the low for the day was in the -30's!! And one town was -56° in my general vicinity! Yikes!! I knew it got pretty cold sometimes here, but nothing like that!!

91 this morning.  We had a high of 58° yesterday and an overnight low of 32°. 
Wow, that is too cold Barbara.  We can get near 0° here but it is rare.  Freezing overnight lows are common in the winter but it usually warms up during the day.  Quite a big difference from the Summer.

Just got in from feeding the cats, 13° outside right now! It is supposed to be clearer but colder for the next week or so, dry though. Sun just came up over the mountains, beautiful!!

128 this cold morning. No White Christmas here, just cold!

Yesterday's high was 30° mostly sunny. Today's forecast is 29°/17° and clear. Clear sunny days in forecast for at least a week. Unfortunately that means temps will be lower, especially overnight. Most sites I look at say temp now is single digit. I can't see thermometers outside as it is still too dark. I'm hoping it is at least in teens!

A person on the TV forum suggested putting warm water on the pellet kibble to entice them to eat it. I do when I mix with wet food morning and evening, but haven't when just given alone. I'll try that, problem is if they don't eat it right away, it freezes up!

ETA:  8:15AM  5° when I went out to feed the kitties.   Brrrrrr

Today's dinner is going to be stir-fry.  Not traditional but quite good.

125 this morning.

24° was the high yesterday though one site says it was 31°. Kitties water kept freezing except for the heated bowl, I doubt the 31° was here. Today's forecast is 31°/16° the sites say light snow AM but from what I can see in the dark by a neighbor's light, nothing here...yet. I'd take a pass on it if I had a choice! So much for the past forecast of clear skies for 7-10 days!!
