I think after the demise of our 3 dear friends we did resolve to keep this one going for as long as we can. So, we're still around with just 4 posting members.

114 this frigid morning.

31° was high yesterday with wind and snow flurries in afternoon/evening and most of night. Today is calm at least, forecast is -6°/-23° at least only a small amount of snow coming this morning. As snow clears out and the skies are clear, it is going to be even colder!  There is at least 2" of snow on porches so lots of shoveling to do today which will no doubt take its toll.

Jaw is still aching some but is getting better. Hopefully hand dr and I can figure out shots for now and later what kind of surgery is best for later.

109 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 55° and the low 25° so I am looking for it to warm up a bit the next few days.
I wouldn't mind seeing some snow here as it wouldn't be a lot and it wouldn't last long but I would not be shoveling it. They got 14 inches yesterday at Mammoth Mountain in the Sierras so that is good.  So far the snow in the Sierras is below average and it is a big source of water for Southern California so more is better.
If this forum had to close down I may try something on Facebook but I don't know.

If it did ever come to that, I'd hope we would all exchange emails and hopefully migrate to the same place. Not wishing it though....

111 this extremely frigid morning.

-3° was the high yesterday! It looks like -26° now, on the thermometer outside by front door! Today's forecast is -4°/-17° mostly clear, which is not a good thing, the clearer it is ,the colder it gets. Wind chill warning for this morning of -40°! At least the next storm they had predicted for this weekend has gone South of us so no new snow! I think this is the coldest it has ever been since I moved here!

If I don't see any cats out looking for food, I'm not going to call them out from wherever they are snuggled. When they come for food I'll feed them.

Mama Millie is settling in well as a house cat! She is the oldest of all the cats, somewhere around 8, her former owner's brother said. This freakish cold would probably have killed her.

94 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 52° and the low was 26° so I hope the predicted rise in the temp is accurate.  We should be in the mid 60s next week.  No rain in sight here, wondering if we will see any effect from the El Niño predicted but that has happened a couple of months later in the past so it may still be here.

126 this frigid morning.

-9° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 4°/-13° with partly cloudy skies. Very gradual warming trend. Not sure I'm going to be able to start car for garbage tomorrow or dr Tuesday. Maybe my friend can help, but I hate to impose.

I expect operations are going to be the same today as yesterday. Keeping cat's food warm (switching it out as it freezes) so they can eat it and brushing as much residual snow off decks so they can walk to food comfortably.

Totally. exhausted, hands and jaw ache, now stomach is upset. I'm going to quit the Advil, that may be stomach problem and go back to the Meloxicam. I just want regular Winter to come back!!

116 this morning.  Higher than I expected as dinner was just a salad, a homemade chefs salad with iceberg lettuce, and romaine with some tomato and a hard boiled egg but I used Ranch dressing but that shouldn't have caused a problem but it is what it is I guess.
Our high yesterday was 62° and the low was 40° so warmer and it looks like that for the next few days.
Barbara, you are having to deal with some really hard weather right now.  Hope it warms up soon.

134 today (my meter is really very off target, my estimate is -10% of this)

There are a couple of skiing destinations up north in India and I just read a News report that there has been no snow or low snow in these areas this year as a result of which this year there will be low tourism there.

142 this morning. I don't even remember what I ate yesterday. Some cheese, few slices of salami, some greek yogurt, some cottage cheese....no appetite and I literally hurt all over!

0° was the high yesterday, today looks a bit better with forecast of 5/-10. Tomorrow looking even better with 22/14 all positive numbers!!  At least not subzero for dr appt.

Just hope I can get the water back on soon!!

91 this morning.  Our high here was 62° and the low was 37°.  Warmer and I would guess it would be like a tropical day for Barbara.
We haven't had a lot of rain or snow locally but the ski areas are doing OK.  Not sure what to expect from the El Niño yet and it usually starts to make it's effect in the Spring.  I don't have any idea how it affects India.  It has different ways it affects other areas and some wetter than usual and some drier than usual.

133 this morning. I still think some of these numbers are the result of the lingering infection that has apparently been going on for some time. Hopefully there will be a change once all dental work is finished.

A whopping 1° was the high yesterday! Above zero finally!! Today's forecast is even better 18°/9° sure hope that is what it actually ends up being! We may see some snow tomorrow night, but not a lot.

Finally got a live person at a plumbing company on the phone! I'm on their list but still may be a day or two before tech can come out. At least the end may be in sight!

91 this morning.  We had a high of 65° yesterday and a low of 33° so pretty nice.  We may have a chance of some rain this weekend but we will have to see, they have seen some snow in the mountains but not a lot.
Nothing on my calendar for today so just going to hang in there.
Glad you did finally get a hold of someone to get your plumbing taken care of.  That is a big problem.

My only fear is they are plumbers. I hope they don't come out and say we don't do pumps! I told her I thought it was my pump so they should know.... I am trying very hard to push that thought out of my mind!!!

ETA:  9:23AM Yay! My regular pump guy called and will be here tomorrow!!!
