147 this morning, as I thought, thanks steroids!

8° was the high yesterday. Yay above zero! Today's forecast is 29°/12° with some light snow early am. From what I can see in the dark, looks like just a dusting, which, if we have to have snow, is fine with me.

Hand dr gave me 3 steroid shots, 2 in right hand and one in left. He also removed a cyst in my right palm just below ring finger which had been hurting, but I thought it was part of Trigger Finger issue. Hands still a bit tender today. We talked about doing the surgery and I said not until after Winter. He said wise choice. Besides I have to wait 3 months between these shots and surgery anyway so it works out just fine. He said surgery works very well for thumbs but not always that well for fingers so that is something to think about.

Can't wait until pump guy gets here!! I hear some sounds from one bathroom faucet and see a tiny amount of dripping, but pump is turned off so even if water is back it can't get out. I hope pump guy comes early!

Other than that I have to really baby my hands today as I don't remember them bothering me at all after the other shots.

117 this morning.  We had a high of 63° yesterday and a surprising overnight low of 55°.  The rain looks like the best chance is for Monday now.
I had a really bad night last night and didn't get much sleep at all so I am going to go back to bed and get some rest.

132 this morning.

19° was the high yesterday!! Today's forecast is 19°/10° with early morning snow. Better by far than the past 4-5 days, but still pretty cold. It is supposed to get more seasonable (bit higher) in a couple days.

Pump guy came, nothing busted, but had to replace pressure tank gauge. It wasn't working so hourly on/off for a while then it started to work mid afternoon. Still no water but he warmed the big metal pipe coming from  underground and said give it time. Put space heater in room above water filter, and cranked up furnace,  as that can freeze up and stop water flow too. Last year that was how I got water back. After about 6 hrs water started to spit out of faucets. That was about 7:30PM it was a very weak flow and sadly gradually got lighter and then stopped at 9:30PM. So no water again. My friend is going to come over and try to replace water filter, hopefully that will fix things. Pump guy out of town today, but will call me to see how it is going... Sigh, all of this is really wearing me down!

It is going to be another exhausting day. My poor hands are not really getting a chance to relax into the shots and feel better. They are better, but should be much better by now.

This Winter so far, and there is a long way to go yet, is the first one I wish I had been able to pack up and go to my kids and be a "snow bird".....problem is can't take 30 cats with me!

109 this morning.  Our high yesterday was a balmy 71° and the low was 36° so it is going to be a bit cooler today but still not bad at all.  It is still looking like a chance of rain Monday but that is still a ways off.
Barbara hope it warms up where you are.  It has really been a trial so far.
I had a good nights sleep last night and feel a lot better but I am going to take it easy today.

114 this morning.

19° was the high yesterday and overnights are holding above zero which is nice. About 2" of new snow yesterday. Light thankfully, and my friend turned me on to the broom for snow which is so much better/easier for the porches! Today's forecast is 28°/17° with light snow on and off all day.

Better weather coming, thank goodness as I am about ready to drop at this point.

Still no water, my friend changed my water filter so that may help but something seems wrong in the pump house. Called pump guy last night to let him know that I still don't have water so I need him to come back check things out now they have thawed.

Maybe today I will brush the snow off my car.

108 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 64° and the low was 42° so just a bit cooler and it is still looking like we may get some rain Monday and even a small chance of something this weekend.
I know it would be a big relief to get some warmer weather there Barbara. Hope it gets there soon.

Great news.
I have been back to checking Fasting since Jan 1st and have been reading between 130-145 based on what I had the previous evening. Based on my experience with the meter, I guess I am somewhere between 100 - 120. In the last decade plus years I have struggled to get my fasting below 100. I have ranged between 100-110 on my best days. But I could notice the drop in my liver glycogen levels, somewhere between day 7-10. Not this time around. Maybe I'll wait for some more days.

121 this morning.

23° was the high yesterday, even a few periods of sun. Today's forecast is 35°/25° hope it actually is. Maybe a spot of rain, which would help melt the snow at least.

Well, still no water, 7 days is just too long! Pump guy coming either early today or later Sunday. It is his weekend with his kids so depends on when they come/leave. He doesn't think it is the pump at least, the pressure valve and box is where he thinks problem is. I just want it fixed!!

My shots have not been nearly as effective as usual, I'm sure it is all this extra stress on them. Can't wait to get the surgeries!

95 this morning.  We had a high of 66° yesterday and a low of 50°.  Rain was predicted for this morning but nothing.  Still looking like a good chance on Monday.  They are getting snow in the Sierras so good for them.
That is awful that you can't get the water going yet.  When we lived on the mountain it would probably been hard to get someone up there for repair also but my BIL is a plumbing contractor so we took care of it ourselves but he also knew how to set it up so we rarely had any problem even in below 0° temps.
Sorry the shots didn't work well.  Just adding another problem to your already nagging problems.  I am sure you will welcome Spring.

129 this morning.

30° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 39°/24° it would be nice! Overall decent Winter weather next 10 days lowest mid 20's to highest in low 40's. No snow or below freezing in 10 days! Yay!

All the clearing yesterday did nothing to help my hands. Hopefully now they can get a rest from the hard physical work.

102 this morning.  We had a high of 62° yesterday and a low of 48° so the overcast is keeping the heat in.  There is now a 100% chance of rain late tonight and tomorrow so we will see how that goes.  It's about time we started to get something.
Good news Barbara, warmer weather is something you can surely use.

118 today morning. Either because I checked a bit early before the dump or my liver is being tidied up. Me thinks, the latter.

133 this morning.

38° was high yesterday, today's forecast is 38°/26° with a spot of possible snow around 8AM.

I am so weary of this whole water situation. I just want it to be over! It has never taken this long before to get service. And now, the worst has been over for days, so I don't understand the problem. I understand this weekend with his kids, but today I need him here!!

85 this morning.  We had a high of 64° yesterday and a low of 47°.  The predicted rain did start here about 6:30AM and is light but steady.  Right now at 7:30AM we have just over 1/10 inch and it should keep up until around noon.  Not a lot but welcome.  Other areas in Southern California are seeing heavy rain and there is snow in the mountains so good all around.
I understand you being weary without water Barbara.  Hope it gets fixed soon.

Just now getting to reading your posts Wally. Pump guy came about 9:30 with a helper. He replaced the pressure switch, the pressure gauge again (first new one burned out from pump recycling), and the control box. And there it was WATER!!!

We discusses rebuilding the pump house this Summer and better insulating it. I am grandfathered to the land there as the property was subdivided after well built. I would like to enlarge it a bit to accommodate more insulation. Now it is a tiny shed maybe 3' x 3' and maybe 6' tall. I talked to the property owner and she started dancing around changing it afraid I was going put up a storage shed there. Sheesh, I have the tin shed and a double garage, why would I want a shed in her property. I finally calmed her down and said this isn't even close to real planning stages and she can have all the input she wants when we actually have plans.

This woman is easily set off, sometimes makes me crazy but she did help me a lot taking me to the dr and grocery store when I was hurt in Dec '22. I just let her ramblings go in one ear and out the other mostly. Tomorrow early morning, I am taking her to the dr., paying back for her help.  Sadly she has cancer and is trying to treat it by natural methods...she doesn't believe in doctors.
