116 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 66° and the low was 40°.  It is going to be warming up here also and we should be around 70° for the weekend.  We will have some clouds but no rain in sight.
Yeah it is interesting how some meds affect other people so it needs to be tried out before you know if it will cause any problem.  My sciatica has improved a lot but I keep taking the Gabapentin and it seems to do the trick for me. It is interesting that for some reason the Meloxicam didn't seem to do me any good.  What works for some doesn't work for others.

111 this morning. It is surprisingly 38° outside right now at 7:30AM!

47° was the high yesterday, slight breeze but lots of sun! Today's forecast is 48°/37° and mostly cloudy. Now they say heavy snow in the mountains Sunday night and into Monday but only 1-3" here in the valley. Hoping this may be the last hurrah of Winter.... but I know better.

98 this morning.  We had a high of 67° yesterday and a low of 40° and it should be warmer today and tomorrow.  It is supposed to get to 71° Sunday then cooling down a bit next week.  They are expecting another storm to bring more snow in the mountains Monday and Tuesday but nothing here.  March is usually our transition from Winter to Spring so it should be warming up soon but we can still get cold spells. Often we get a warm period and the trees leaf out and flowers bloom then we will get a freeze and kill it all.

How well I know about those frosts. When I lived in Arnold and the many years before that DH was there with first wife and kids, the apple trees would just bloom in Spring and wham, the frost hit. I think in the 12 years I lived there, I had 2 apples from those trees. Probably was a poor choice of kind of apple to begin with for that elevation....

124 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 50° with some sun, some clouds. Today's forecast is about the same, 48°/33°, with the addition of high wind gusts in afternoon/evening. Few showers this morning, maybe some light snow today and more snow Monday with much cooler temps.

I think I am going to make a grocery run later this morning, Monday sounds like driving is not going to be much fun, today with maybe a bit of rain sounds better for driving.

104 this morning.  We had a high of 69° yesterday and a low of 48°.  The high today is supposed to be a nice 72° and it should be around 70° for the next few days.  Pretty nice for the end of February.
yeah the warming up and then freezing was worse op on the mountain but we had apple trees and a really nice peach tree that would most of the time bear fruit.  Actually the worse was the wind that would blow off all of the blooms right before they started to become fruit.  Here we don't have any fruit trees so it is just the flowers.

Maybe it was because we were further North than you and maybe higher elevation? We were at about 4400' that was a good 400+' higher than the actual town of Arnold. It still could have easily been the type of apple DH had planted years before too. Johnny Appleseed he wasn't! LOL

Well we were at about the same elevation.  We were at 4800' but were definitely farther South.  Our apple trees were here  when we bought the place and were green apples so I don't know if they were any better than varieties of red apples but most of the time they did really good. The peach tree was pretty good and I forgot the apricot tree that was prolific.  The thing with it was that when it had lots of fruit the birds destroyed it in a short matter of time.  We planted two almond trees but never had much luck with them up there but down here near town there are several commercial almond orchards.

114 this drizzly morning.

Yesterday's high was 47°, the wind really kicked up around 4PM. Of course, right when I was feeding kitties! It blew most of the evening and overnight but more in gusts than steady strong wind. Wind advisory still in effect until 11AM today. It is just lightly blowing right now. Forecast for today is drizzle/light snow (1-3") in the valleys and 38°/22°.

I am staying put today and probably most of the week in hopes the road dries out enough to safely drive.

Wally, I was thinking about the apple trees. Another problem I don't think DH took into consideration was the growth of the cedar and ponderosa pines around the property from 1965 on after he bought the place. The apple trees barely saw any sun and the ground was hopelessly acidic from all the pine needles. They were doomed form their first planting I think.

98 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 72° and the low was 53° so a pretty warm end of February.  It looks like we will be around 70° for the next few days.  There is a small chance of rain this weekend but it is also supposed to be windy and that usually pushes rain out of the area here.
We also had a lot of pine trees but there were 6 apple trees in one area and they got a lot of sun and that area was also where we had the peach and apricot trees so they did pretty well there.  All of these trees were here when we bought the place and had been there for many years.  Interesting about the pine needles.  Where the fruit trees were the pine needles didn't fall so maybe that was a help.

There you go, sun and no pine needles! That is exactly what our poor trees didn't have any more. And the poor blossoms that managed to make it, were 99% of the time caughtin the late freeze every time!

96 this morning.  We had a high of 73° yesterday and a low of 53° so staying about the same for now.  There is another storm system coming to the West coast but smaller but they are expecting more snow in the mountains so that is good.  here we will probably just get wind.

125. this. morning.

39° ended up the high yesterday with periods of high wind. Today's forecast is 30°/25° cloudy with a bit of snow in the early morning, looks like it has already passed.

Again, nothing on agenda and I hope it genuinely stays that way today.

Last evening a new interloper stray cat showed up and I promptly chased it off. This morning before I was even ready to feed them all it showed up again. Side kitties lined up at the edge of the stream watching it come and it skirted them and headed for the front porch. I jumped up to chase it off and one of the front porch kitties was already facing off with it. I shooed it away and since I was out there already, I fed everyone at about 7:30 as opposed to 8AM. Result is I'm late to do my posting.

Time change is coming soon and the feedings are going to get earlier....sigh  I do look forward to more light though!

118 this breezy morning.

36° was the high yesterday, overnight in the mid 20's. Today's forecast is 45°/36°, mostly cloudy with a few flurries in morning, some wind gusts to 20 MPH. Tomorrow anther storm coming through but won't impact the valleys much snow-wise but it will be very windy again. Yuk! As much as I dislike the bitter cold, I HATE the wind!!

108 this morning.  We had a high of 70° yesterday and a low of 40°.  The storm system is supposed to be hitting the West Coast Saturday and they are expecting around 4 feet of snow in the mountains but here we are going to get a lot of wind and that is about it.  I agree, I am not a fan of the wind but here it is a fact of life so just have to put up with it.  We are expecting winds of 20-30 MPH and that pushes the rain out of this area.
