128 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 48° with wind. Today's forecast is 50°/30° with flurries in AM and rain with high winds starting around noon lasting into late evening. Not much snow for valleys but mountains some significant numbers a few places.  Typical unsettled Springish weather for here...

84 this morning.  We had a high of 71° yesterday and a low of 51° so still on the warm side.  It is still looking like there will be a lot of snow this weekend in the Sierras which is good but here it will be wind.  >:(

It's just the end of February and we're already touching 92o here. Wonder what May will be like.

132 this morning.

50° was the high yesterday, but the winds made it feel colder. Heaviest winds and rain in early evening. Today's forecast is 42°/28° with flurries AM and maybe rain/snow later in day. Winds not as bad as yesterday. Heavy snow for mountains, maybe only an inch or two here. From what I can see outside right now (7AM) less than 1" of snow and 30°. I hope the forecast is right!

Will begin work on cat section of garage once weather settles. On the 8th, I have dentist appointment for 6 crowns to be done. That is not going to be fun!!

107 this morning.  We had a high of 71° yesterday and a low of 48° but the wind started last night and with the new storm system coming in it is going to be quite windy with winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts over 40 MPH today and tomorrow. The predicted 60% chance of rain here is just not going to happen with those winds.
92° isn't hot for here but it is for March.  I am quite happy with temps in the 90s but when it is over 100° I am staying inside.
Nothing on my agenda today except laundry.

Just saw on the news that there is a blizzard hitting my old home town in the Motherlode (Northern CA) and the surrounding Sierras. They're talking about many, many feet of snow and white out conditions. I was trying to see on the map if it was going to move my way, but look more like the Plains are going to get it. Looks scary!  My son has a condo in Kirkwood which is under blizzard watch. Hope they aren't up there. We're just expecting 1-3" of snow here overnight and tomorrow. Won't complain about that!

134 this morning. Have a feeling I am getting something...

Yesterday's high was 44° cloudy with a bit of sun and a little wind. Today's forecast is 40°/21° cloudy with occasional flurries and rain mix.

Welp, I guess my Chewy order is going to be delayed in Reno due to the terrible weather around there. Can't blame them though it looks brutal!  Monday I will have to make a back-up kitty food run...

Thanks SKB.  Yeah the new roof is finished and no shingles flying off as they did with the old one.

102 this morning.  We had a high of 68° yesterday and a low of 48°.  The wind is howling and as I figured the predicted rain is not going to be here but there are areas where it is.  The snow in the Sierras is going to be quite heavy and there is a possibility of up to 12 feet and blizzard conditions so a pretty big storm.

132 this morning. Sure is nice to see light outside this early (7:10AM) again, temp is 22° and a very light dusting of snow.

40° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 38°/20° mostly cloudy. I'll take that!!

Yesterday morning just as I sat down to read some of skb's articles, the power went out. Downed transformer, fortunately it was back in about 90 minutes. Phew, it is amazing the dead silence in the house when nothing is running.  Kind of set an unsettled feeling to the whole day.

88 this morning.  We had a high of 60° yesterday and a low of 45° and the wind hasn't stopped.  We are having winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts of 40 MPH and it is going to be the same all day.  No rain here and we won't see any and I really do not enjoy the wind.
Fortunately we don't have problems with the power going out here very much.  It used to be a big problem but a few years ago they upgraded the whole system here and it has been pretty good since then.

When we moved here in 1985 the area was a newly developing one and there were a lot of regular power outages. I guess that is to be expected. Not anymore. We had one a month ago where a distribution panel was being replaced and the power was out for practically the whole day. Other than that, it is very very rare.

125 this morning. (18° outside 7AM.)

Yesterday's high was 39° overnight was 23° actually was a fairly nice day with the sun out most of the day. Today's' forecast is 34°/18° mostly cloudy with a small chance of snow showers late morning and again evening. A very small chance thank goodness.

When I first moved here in 2004, there were a lot more power outages in the Winter than now. They have improved their equipment quite a bit which helps. The problems come when the wind is blowing and it is freezing and random branches come down unexpectedly. Or the random idiots that think because they have 4WD they can go as fast as they want and hit a power pole...
