105 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 107° again and they are predicting 110° today.  That could be right as it was 84° at 5:00 AM and the poor cooler didn't shut off all night.
They are warning people in the Los Angeles about high heat and it is going to be in the low 90s there so it is just what people are used to.  People are getting various heat related health issues but then they are going out at the hottest part of the day and running or hiking and that is a problem.  Another thing is that they take their poor dogs outside on the hot pavement without thinking of how they suffer from the blistering hot pavement.  I saw a sign that said that if you are thinking of taking your dog out on a walk put on a fur coat and go barefooted so you know how they feel.  ~dog~

This is a great analogy! People don't think about the poor animals feet on the hot concrete or asphalt. On the other forum I frequent, there was a photo of a couple in Las Vegas walking their dog in little booties made for protection. So good to see them recognizing what an animal can suffer in the heat!!

125 this morning.

Yesterday ended up being just 79° which was OK with me! It was much warmer up in town! Today's forecast is 88°/51°.

I am disappointed with my glasses. They are a tortoise shell pattern in purple/green/brown. The pair I tried on in the eye center were predominately purple with green and a few spots of brown. That is why I choose them. The pair I got is mostly brown with very little purple and even less green. I called to see what they could do and they said they'd look into it and try to get the more purple ones. If I had been told they could vary this much I would never have chosen that style. I have never liked really dark frames on my glasses and I dislike these even more today!!

The only thing on the agenda for today is laundry and if they call about frames, going and getting them.

81 this morning.  We had a high of 108° yesterday and it is going to be the same today so pretty normal. The overnight low was 84° so the cooler is on a 24 hour schedule.
Sorry your frames were not what you expected. I always go with steel frames and don't really care about how they look but I understand that it is more important for you.  Hope you get what you like.  It is a surprise when what you get is not what you expected, especially with what they cost.

114 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 79° lower than predicted. Today begins a cooling trend though they predict 86°/57°. There may be a few rain showers today but tomorrow more rain and much cooler, down to 60's. June is historically one of the wetter months, I guess we will see how it plays out this year soon enough.

No word yet from eye center, the more I wear these glasses the less I like them! I hope they can find the colors like I tried on!

91 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 106° and it is going to be the same today but maybe cooling down a little bit but still in the 100+° range.  Our swamp cooler can't handle temps over 105° very well but we change to the refrigeration unit and it does a very good job so still nice inside.  We use the swamp cooler when it is working as it is cheaper to run but thanks to the refrigeration unit we are covered.  A lot of people here only have a swamp cooler so when the humidity and temps are this high they are affected a lot more.

115 this drizzly morning.

81° was the high yesterday. Rain stared in evening and on and off all night from what I can tell outside. Today's forecast is 67°/41° cloudy with scattered showers. Best thing from the rain is it wet down all the pollen.

I ordered a monocular from Amazon last night, I have always had trouble with binoculars and I thought this might be a better option. Sometimes I need to check if a cat I don't recognize has a clipped ear. Plus I like to look at the birds!!

84 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° and it looks like it will be the same for the next few days. 
I didn't sleep well last night and for some reason I lay awake until around midnight and woke up at 5:00 AM so I think a nap is in order today.
I have trouble with binoculars also Barbara.  For some reason I have double vision and can't get binoculars to resolve into a single image.  I am not sure but I think it is related to the cataract surgery I had as it was then when I noticed it.  A monocular would be what I would need.

Not sure my problem is related to the cataract surgery, but it definitely didn't get any better after it. I'll let you know how the monocular works for me. It is supposed to arrive Sunday.

Me too. I love to photograph them as well. I had got a calendar made for the year 2012 I think. It's somewhere on my PC.

The monocular I got has an attachment to hook up my phone so I can take distant photos with camera through the monocular lens. This is gong to be fun to play with!

126 this cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 65° cloudy and showers. Today's forecast is 72°/49° and cloudy.

Just checked Amazon for delivery of the monocular and it is now coming tomorrow! Yay! A new toy to play with.

91 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° same as yesterday but it was a cooler overnight low at 72° but still predicted to get to 105° today.
I got a good nights sleep last night so feel a lot better today. 
I have a lens attachment for my iPhone but have never used it.  I need to try it out.

118 this morning.

70° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 82°/56° and sunny.

No word about the glasses so called them yesterday afternoon. Now they want me to go in to see what I am talking about. Seemed pretty clear over the phone to me, but I guess they need "proof". I'm getting the feeling they aren't going to do anything....sigh. The gal that worked with me knew I wanted purple frames, she even said so back me when trying them on. These are predominantly brown frames! Not very hopeful at this point and I'll be stuck with these for 2 years. (I only need new glasses every couple of years.)

I googlesd lens attachments for Iphones and my goodness they are expensive! My monocular looks much the same for a lot less. I'm excited to try it out!

101 this morning.  We had a high of 103° yesterday and now it is going to warm up and may be around 115° by next weekend.
I woke up early this morning with sciatica causing pain in my foot and thought it was 3:30AM and was awake so I got up and turned the coffee on and it was actually 2:30AM but I was awake so oh well.
Barbara, that is a lot larger than the lenses I got for my iPhone and probably better but the ones I have are smaller and a lot lighter.  I really don't know if they are any good at all so I really should try them out just to see.
