79 this morning. Our high yesterday was 106° and it should be the same today so it is cooler. Nothing on my schedule today so Iam just going to take it easy.

118 this morning.

88° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 94°/55°. If not for the new A/C , I would be miserable right now!!

I caught the kitten!!! I had just about given up last evening just after 9pm, tired of standing watching by the window. All the other cats had eaten, lazed around on the cooling concrete and gone off to wherever they go for the night when all of a sudden mama and kitten calmly walked into the garage. I had pushed all the food dishes to the back so they had to go way in. Stealthy, I slipped out the door I had left ajar and screen I had set a bit open so no sounds. I grabbed the pulley we had set up and shut the door on them!! Finally!! And not a day too soon, tomorrow is the TNR appointment.

I immediately called my friend as she wanted to see if she could reunite it with the other two. As I hung up I had a searing pain across my low back. It doubled me over. The weirdest thing I had ever felt. I sat on the step and it passed, the only thing I could think of was all the tension I had been holding in regarding catching this kitten was just leaving my body. I felt better with just a bit of an ache left, about an hour later and that is all I feel today. There was so much pressure on me to get this kitten, I didn't realize I had internalized it so much.

Today is going to be a day of rest with no worries, finally all of us, the cats and I can get back to our normal happy routine!!

103 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° and it should be around there today but it may warm up a bit by the weekend.
Off in just a bit to the dentist for the second part of the deep cleaning and then that will be over.
Glad you caught the kitten Barbara.

Just a spasm I think. Whatever it was is behind you and that's the best part.

89 this morning!!

86° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 97°/61°. Again the forecast says we'll hit 100's this weekend and next Monday. Fires are starting in several places, fortunately nothing big yet or near to me.

92 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 107° and it is looks like that is about where we will be for the rest of the month.  There are some fires not too far away from here also and it was pretty smoky yesterday here.  These are mostly brush fires and not into the forests yet but still putting homes in danger but fire crews have done a good job of keeping them from homes.

This is another glitch with the forum s/w. A thumbnail of the picture posted in the Quotes thread gets attached here. It happens only sometimes, but with regularity.

98 this morning.

87° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 94°/55°. Some clouds today and I suppose smoke too. I was awakened around 3AM to the sounds of pouring rain for about 5-10 minutes and then as it passed, thunder in the distance. Just hope there was no lightening with the thunder!

My friend is bringing the kitten home this morning. It is just too feral for anything else. Mama cat will be happy and it is the best for the kitten. All 3 of the kittens were female. So glad I got the last one too as that put a good dent in feral births around here!

I'll be glad to have it back too, it is so cute and watching it play makes me smile. I'll try to get it used to me early so maybe it will not be afraid of me any more.

With this heat, I am pretty much staying in all the time so it will be another quiet day unless I get the bug to do some cleaning....

91 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 107° and it should be the same today.
I have to leave in a bit for an MRI for my prostrate and have to go for about an hour and a half drive to get there so not looking forward to that but I will be glad when it is done.  On the plus side we will be going by an In 'N Out burger so will have to stop there!  ;D

106 this morning.

88° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 96°/57° though I always seem to be consistently about 10° cooler.  I guess my trees and the flowing water on 2 sides of the house make the difference...also maybe the distance from the reporting station.

I couldn't have chosen a better year to have installed A/C!! It would have been unbearable here w/out it!!

80 this morning. We did stop at In 'N Out for burgers so had "lunch" at about 2:00 in the afternoon and was full at dinner time so that was all I had and didn't test until this morning so I guess it was long enough for me to get back to normal.
Our high yesterday was 107° and it is supposed to get to 110° today and around 112° over the weekend.  Yeah Barbara, without A/C it would be quite unbearable here.  I am glad that our power is pretty consistent here.
The trip to get my MRI was long and I am glad it is over.  The local place I usually go to does not have a machine as powerful as the doctor wanted so that was the reason I had to go to the other place and now that is done and I go to the doctor next week to go over the results.

117 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 88°, today's forecast is 98°/59°. Another week of this hot weather then supposedly cooling by next Friday.  Thank goodness. So far we've avoided any huge fires. But there is a long way to go before fire season is over.

107 this morning.  Our high yesterday waw 107° again and will probably be the same today.  They are predicting 111° but lately we have not quite reached the predicted temp.  We have had several brush fires so far as is usual and one in the forest near the Sequoias that has caused it to be smoky here.  So far even though there have been a couple of evacuations there have not been any homes affected but fire season is far from over.
