112 this morning.

90 was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 100°/60° oh boy!! I hope it doesn't get there but so far it will probably be the hottest day yet!

When I went out to feed the cats this morning around 7am, several of them were damp...I guess they went for a dip in the creek! Smart kitties!  ~ cat ~

It will be another lazy day, primarily spent inside. Only chore is get the garbage collected and ready to take up the road tomorrow.

100 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 109° and it is supposed to be 1-2° warmer today and remaining there for the next few days.  Yeah, it is Summer in the desert.
Nothing much on my schedule for today.  I have a new CPU and graphics card to install in mt desktop but I need motivation to get it done.  It is not that hard but I do have to do some prep before tackling it and just need to take the time to do it.  I am the king of procrastination!  ::)

118 this morning. Still paying a bit for the ice cream.

Yesterday's high was 90° lots of smoke in the air from local fire and also Canada and probably CA too. The moon was bright orange last night...a fire moon for sure. Today is still smoky and the air quality is Unhealthy, forecast is 99°/61°. It is barely cooling enough at night to keep the house cool until afternoon w/out A/C.

Garbage up the road is all for today. I was thinking of going out to get some fresh veggies, but think I'll just use the frozen ones I have and stay inside as much as possible.

85 this morning, salad for dinner  :)
Our high yesterday was 110° and it is heading to 112° today.
My big project for today is doing my laundry! Well, not a big deal but happy that I am able to do it.

119 this morning.

90° again yesterday for a high. So smoky outside then late evening a short thunderstorm with lots of lightening! Haven't heard yet if it started any new fires. Today's forecast is 101°/59°. Once again I expect here it won't get quite that hot but 90's are too hot for me too!

I have a package from Amazon up in my mailbox so I am going to zip out in a few minutes to get it and while I'm out a quick run to PO and local grocery. Hopefully back before it gets hot. then it is my turn to do some laundry !!

98 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 111° and it is supposed to be the same today.  It may cool down just a bit by the weekend but not by much. I would really love to be in the 90s but that will not happen for some time.
When I got up at 5:00 AM the internet was down and I had received a notice that they were going to be down for about 15 min. around 12:00 AM for a software upgrade to the routers but that should have been over so I called the customer service line and the message said that they were aware of a problem and were working on it.  Another upgrade gone astray!  It was down until about 6:30 this morning and came back up thankfully then.  Sitting for about an hour and a half without the internet makes you realize how much we are dependent on it these days.  I think there may be a way to connect with my phone using cellular but I don't know how to do it so I need to look into that.

95 this morning. Our high yesterday was 111° again but we got a Summer rain shower in the evening that brought 3/4 inch of rain and while that may not seem like a lot to you guys it is for here in the desert.  On the down side it does bring the humidity up quite a bit so there is that.

100 this morning.

Another 90° for a high yesterday.  Today's forecast is 101°/63°. Possible thunderstorms and high winds this evening create a huge fire danger. Then Thursday the temps are supposed to start going back to normal. The air is still very smoky and the helicopters have been dipping into Lake Como for water for the fire North of me so noisy on top of smoke.

I installed an app called Watch Duty that alerts for fires in your area. I'm thinking I made a mistake setting it for alerts as it went off about 5 times yesterday. Small fires just starting and small, but gives you an idea how close to you they are. Sounded like a great idea but holy dog! Fire season here, it will be going off all day/night! I just got the free basic app didn't buy any upgrades.

Didn't get to the laundry yesterday, hopefully today!

103 this morning. Our high yesterday was 109° and it is supposed to be the same today.  It may start to cool down a bit by the weekend but around 102°.  Yeah SKB, our rain lasted a whole hour and that was big for here in the Summer.

99 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 91°, today's forecast is 88°/47° partly cloudy.  The thunderstorm hit about 9:30PM last night. The wind was fierce and I began to feel like Dorothy in Wizard of Oz!! I wasn't sure my mobile home was going to withstand it. I expected worse tree damage but I was really lucky in that only one branch from a Dogwood in the front yard came down, otherwise just small tiny branches and leaves. the rain was pelting and then the power went out. It was the weirdest outage...some lights blinked dimly, some rooms had none. I unplugged TV, printer, microwave. My phone had just finished charging and the computer was not plugged in. It raged outside for about an hour then just rain. Reports say in my valley and up in town more than 10,000 people were w/out power and some still are. Mine was back when I got up at 6:30 am. And the overall damage to me was minimal. Missoula was the worst hit (that is what I refer to as "town"). Trees down on homes and still w/out power.

The cats were freaked out! They were darting around trying to figure where to go to hide many headed for the garage home some under my car. When the worst was all over they started coming out and were exploring the downed branch and the yard in general. Thinking back they must have had a sense that the worst was over or they wouldn't have come out. And they were right!

Today will be clearing the yard of what I can lift and walking all around to see if there is any other damage.  I hate the wind and holy frack! This wind was like nothing I have ever experienced. I haven't seen any reports of how strong it actually was, will post once I hear.

Well, skb I think some of those elephants were here last night!!

Just saw an article about the storm. Winds clocked at 106 mph with gusts to 109 mph up in  the mountain (not a huge mountain, 5,158') just above Missoula (30 miles from me).  81mph down in town. Not much slower here. So Yikes! Category 2 Hurricane force winds!! Our predictions were for 60mph winds....

87 this morning.  Our high was 109° again yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today but cooling down a bit over the weekend.
There are some pretty big fires in Northern California and Oregon that have caused evacuations and destroyed some homes.  Dry conditions and heavy winds have made it hard to contain them.
Woe Barbara, we have some strong winds at times here but nothing like that. Hope you don't have too much damage.

112 this morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 84°/48°. A much cooler and calmer day!

The more I see of the damage the storm caused up in Missoula, the luckier I feel I was here. Yes, we had some small fires and lots of trees down. I guess we didn't get the brunt of the storm, thank goodness. I hope to never have that experience again!!

Still haven't tried to move the tree branch, maybe today...
