100 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 80° and blue sky!! Today the newest heat wave begins with a prediction of 95°/55°. It is supposed to be sunny but as the high sets in the smoke will return. I saw a blurb on Wunderground the Fall this year will be a "second summer". I hope not!

Today I have my first appointment with the Podiatrist to get my claws trimmed. Finally gave up on struggling to do it myself. I chose their office in the town South of me for a change from going up to Missoula. I'll probably do a little exploring since I haven't been there to shop in a long time! All depending on the weather being bearable enough to do so!

105 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° and it is going to be warming up a bit and the humidity is higher for the next few days so it will be off with the swamp cooler and on with the refrigeration unit.  I feel for the people that only have a swamp cooler but it is better than nothing.
Yeah, I have been going to the Podiatrist for getting my "claws" trimmed for a while and in fact I have an appointment Monday.  It sure beats trying to do it myself, I was just not doing a good job.

I hear you! I have already cut myself once and that was enough. My late husband was stubborn and insisted on still doing his own long after he should have. I would have to go around the house and clean up his little bloody toe prints after each time. (He was almost totally blind by then and didn't even notice them.) I think he cut by feel and he had no feeling in his feet! I finally got him going to the Podiatrist. I was not going to go down that road....

102 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 86° and still smoke free. Today's forecast is 100°/59° sunny, but the smoke is coming in already. It is going to be hot again and unfortunately with a lot of smoke too.

I am really happy I finally got to the Podiatrist! My toenails haven't looked and felt so good for years! Apparently Medicare covers cutting every 3 months, a pair of diabetic shoes a year plus 3 (I think it was) custom insoles. They started the paperwork for the shoes, a slip on type pair. I don't like totally enclosed shoes but I'll give them a try.

Nothing much on agenda today. I stopped in a thrift shop while out yesterday and got some decent really cheap summer tops so doing a small laundry is my only chore today.

108 this morning. Our high yesterday was 106° but it is overcast today with a chance of some showers but probably just high humidity here. The predicted high is 99° for today and warming up the next few days and getting up to the 110° mark.
Yeah laundry is my big thing to do today for me also.
I haven't tried to get special shoes for diabetics but I got a pair of Sketchers shoes that are slip-ons and like them.

I'll look at them on Amazon. What I did't like about all the diabetic shoes they had in their catalog is they were all full shoes. My feet get claustrophobic in full shoes. I prefer clog/mule style. I saw one pair on Amazon that says "diabetic" that are mules that I think I am going to try.

I have a problem with one foot swelling quite a bit when I am on my feet for a long time. Almost a full 1/2 size larger than the other foot. The podiatrist said they can order shoes in 2 different sizes. That may be a solution for me. I have been extremely water retentive ever since being pregnant. I had severe toxemia with both. For some reason it is just the right leg/foot that swells. Finding comfortable shoes has been an ongoing problem for me.

101 this morning.

89° was the high yesterday just a bit of smoke. Today's forecast is 99°/64° sunny but smoky as there will be little wind.

Nothing much on agenda for today, just some cleaning and tiding. Tomorrow my neighbor is having a Celebration of Life for his wife. They had a private funeral and burial though it was filmed and I watched it online (like the one for John). This will be a happy sharing of all our memories of Wind. Her name was Francis but she chose Wind for her name, and that is what I knew her by.

88 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 102° and we even got a few sprinkles here but they did get rain in the fire burning in the local mountains and no dry lightening so it did help in the effort to control the fire but it is still not controlled.
Laundry was my big thing yesterday and I had planned to do some work on my desktop computer today but I ordered new case fans and they haven't arrived yet so I will put it off.  I have a new processor and graphics card to install so it will take some time.

87 this morning.  Our high yesterday was a hotter 107° yesterday and is predicted to be 110° today so hotter for the next few days.  In addition to that the humidity is higher at 30% which is high for here so not desirable.

125 this morning. Not really sure where that came from...

Yesterday's high was 85°, today's forecast is 78°/52° cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Looks like my friend's Celebration of Life is going to be moved indoors. It is supposed to be a happy rememberance and the weather is going to bring gloom to it. Too bad.

The only other thing on the agenda is gathering the garbage...

105 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 109° and it is supposed to get to 111° today so hotter and that will be where we will be for the week.
A fire started yesterday along the highway that goes up the mountain where I used to live and that road is closed right now.  Glad I don't have to deal with it now.  Thia has happened before and I suspect someone throwing a cigarette out the window may be the cause.
Off in a bit to have my claws clipped then having labs done for my next appointment with the new doctor.

105 this morning.

71° was the high yesterday. Cloudy and drizzly most of the day, the sun only out in the evening. Today's forecast is 91°/56° partly sunny but cloudy/smoky and a slight chance of thunder storms.

I went to my friends Celebration of Life for a while. She came from a family of 9 children so between spouses and kids and nieces and nephews there were a lot of people there. I chatted with some and with her husband but felt really out of place so came home after about an hour and a half. It was a sweet sad gathering but also lots of lovely memories too. I'm glad I did go.

103 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 111° and it should be about the same today. It looks like we will start to cool down next week.
I got the results from my blood work yesterday and it looks like all is pretty much the same as it has been so not bad but I will see how it is interrupted by the PCP next week.  My A1c was 5.4% so that is not bad and I am good with that. Anything in the 5% range is where I like to be.

106 this morning.

Late to post, got up late, a huge thunder storm blew through at 2AM lots of thunder and lightening. And lots of rain!! Rain is good if any fires were started....

Yesterdays high was 80° with a thunder storm early evening. Today's forecast is 86°/53° it says sunny with some clouds but I can hear big thunder claps to the North of me right now.

I need to start getting things organized for my next hand surgery on Friday. Did a bit of grocery shopping yesterday, today laundry so I have plenty of clean clothes out and ready for a few days after so I don't have to go digging for something or another. I will be glad when it is all done and into the healing phase!

Yeah Wally, I am with you anything in the 5% range is good! I am struggling to get back there but I will do it!
