89 this morning. Our high was a  it warmer yesterday at 103° and it should be the same today and cooling down starting tomorrow.
Off in a bit to see my dermatologist for a routine look to see if there are any problems and there are a couple of spots I want to have checked.
Hope you are able to get that infection handled today Barbara.

Thanks Wally!

Results of dr visit:

What happened was I had a reaction to the stitches of all things. Each pocket of pus was at an insertion point of a stitch. Fortunately the additional dosage of the Keflex has kicked in and swelling is coming back down. He took out the stitches and my hand immediately felt better. Then he poked all the infection sites so they could drain and wrapped my hand. It feels sooo much better now! I see him again in a week for a follow up.

I told him I was'nt impressed with his PA's demeanor. He left me feeling like I was over reacting and the red was just part of the healing process. Then he says,  "just in case...I'll give you an antibiotic"... like I was some sort of hypochondriac... My dr said I did the right thing coming in as soon as I noticed a problem, that I did nothing wrong. He said he appreciated the feedback. And would review it with his PA.

109 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° and now it is supposed to start cooling down a bit and we should be below 100° by the weekend so that will be a welcome trend.
Off in a bit to see my dentist and have a "polishing" after the deep cleaning whatever that is but I had to wait a month after the cleaning to have it done.
Appointment yesterday with my dermatologist resulted in my needing 4 biopsies done but she didn't have time to do it then so I go back next Wednesday for that.
Glad you were able to see the doctor for your hand Barbara. Good that you told him about the PA and how you felt. This is something he needed to hear.

112 this morning.

83 was the high here yesterday. Today is going to be cooler, no problem with that since no rain or T-storms involved!! 81°/46° and sunny.

My hand is much better today!! No pain, no pus, just some scabbing where the pus was. What seems odd to me was if I was having a reaction to the stitches why didn't it happen in the other incision too. Maybe because the other was much smaller and not in a crease in my hand. Or maybe he used a different type of stitch material, they were like fine fishing line, some sort of plastic, very flexible (seemed the same as last surgery). A good question for my dr next appt!

This is something only nature can answer. Expect your doctor to mumble some jargon in response. I asked a similar question to a surgeon about my kidney stones. Why did only my right kidney develop them and not the left. He said he had asked the same question in college but was still looking for answers.

106 this morning. Our high yesterday was 101° and it is supposed to be 98° today so cooling a bit as predicted.
Dentist appointment yesterday was easy and quick, just a polishing after the deep cleaning but for some reason it had to wait for a month when after a regular cleaning it is done then. Not sure why but I didn't ask so it is done and now back to regular visits.
It does seem strange Barbara but glad it is better now.

116 this morning.

It was 75° here yesterday, today's forecast is 86°/49°. The weather looks pretty normal for the next 10 days...60's and 70's for highs...I'll take that!

Not much on agenda for today. Just taking it easy for a change. We'll see how that pans out... ~ cat ~

117 this morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 86°/51° mostly sunny, but a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

The nice weather will give me a chance to gather all the small branches that came down the last storm that passed through.

I don't know if it is some sort of political move or what, but the State of Montana is refunding the property taxes we paid for 2023, up to a max of $675!! I filed my claim yesterday. Since I already get a senior/low income discount, I only pay 20% of my actual bill, I am not getting a lot back but hey, $185 is a nice piece of unexpected change!!

103 this morning. Our high yesterday was 96° so finally under the 100° mark and it is supposed to be a cooler 93° today so it looks like we will be seeing cooler weather for the next few days. It can still get hotter but enjoying the cooler temps for now.
Nothing on my schedule for today so I will try to do some needed cleaning.
Nice you are getting a refund Barbara. That will not happen in California, we are in a deficit so taxes will probably go up if anything.

Is there a court order for that ? That would run into millions of $$

It was a House Bill for tax relief that was signed into Law by the Governor. Convenient timing considering this is an election year... The maximum a person can get is $675 or the lesser total of the exact bill paid. That is why I only get $185, that was my total bill. I actually have 2 tax bills on my property but the other one is only $24 so I just didn't file for that one. I don't want any hold up on the larger number. If someone paid say $1000 in taxes they would only get the $675 back

The the total rebate costs won't be as high as many states because our population as of 2023 is just 1,084,225. And not all of that total are property owners. (Montana is the eighth-least populated state in the US and is also the third-least densely populated state.)

104 this morning. Our high yesterday was 90° and it is supposed to be the same today so enjoying the cooler weather. It looks like we will be around this for the next few days so enjoying it while it lasts, it can still get hot in September but Fall is around the corner.
I spent most of the day yesterday doing a major cleaning of the bathroom, it had been put off for way too long.  I can't get down on my knees so it takes a major effort for me to scrub the tile floor and I have to take it in steps and sit down for a bit every once in a while but it sure looks a lot better.

108 this morning.

The high yesterday was around 80°, I didn't catch the actual temp. Todays' forecast is 71°/45° cloudy with "possible" showers and "possible" thunderstorms. Sheesh, even the weather people are guessing! At least this fire is no threat to me here, but it is a reminder it can easily happen here too!

My swing again was blown off the deck. I'm just going to have my friend's husband put it by the garage on the concrete and leave it there for now! These are strange, strong winds we are having.

I may again pick up branches, but then may just leave them for a few days.... I was going to make a quick grocery run but the evacuation center is in the Mormon church right across the street from the store so it is probably best to steer clear from there. The bigger store has the fire info stands all set up so I expect it is crazy there too! I'll give things a chance to settle some before I venture out.

71° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is just about the same 73°/47°. Next 10 days in the 70's and mid 80's so far no storms forecast.

Nothing really on agenda for today other than gather the garbage and flatten some of the wet boxes to include with the garbage.

Hand is much better, skin is healing/shedding and movement isn't that painful. Today is last day of Keflex so I can go back on the Metformin and Meloxicam tomorrow. My back and knees will feel much better for that!
