Quote from: walkerwally1 on November 03, 2024, 10:44:12 AMI have never liked HP but it is more of a personal thing. I have had a couple Canon printers and liked them but all printers seem to have a life span that seems shorter than it should

I'm sort of leaning towards a Cannon. I just want simple print/copy/scan though I don't think I have ever even used the scan function on any printer I've had! Just print maybe 20 pgs a month that's all I ask of a printer.

Well, copy uses the scanner so you are using the scan function to make a copy. The Canon printers I have had did a good job for everything I wanted so I think they are pretty good. Like all printers I have had they all want you to use their own ink and try to make it hard to use third party ink but I print a lot so that is why I went for the ink tank but for the amount you do it should not be a problem.

109 this morning.

42° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 43°/33° with possible rain and snow showers in the afternoon.

Yesterday was kind of crazy/busy with the crystal lady. Then once she left she kept texting me.  Fortunately her last one was that she wouldn't be coming today, which is fine with me!

Garbage to the road and a quick grocery/PO run is it for today. Maybe if I feel energetic I'll work some in the garage.

103 this morning. Our high yesterday was 70° so we are staying right around that and it looks like we will be there for the next few days.
Still trying to get used to the time change but I am doing better than the dog. She wants to be fed an hour earlier now, amazing how she knows.

98 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 42°, today's forecast is 40°/23° and cloudy.  Not much change from this mornings temp of 37°! It's that time of year. I wish it would be clear at night though so maybe I could see the meteor shower!

Well, I ordered my printer, a very cheap Cannon so not out much if it only lasts a year. My last cannon was not expensive and it worked great for a long time...just tired of searching.

Hope to work some in the garage today, didn't get to it at all yesterday.

102 this morning. Our high yesterday was 72° and it is predicted to be a slightly warmer 74° today but still around the same for the rest of the week then getting down into the 60s next week.

Yeah, for what you use a printer for getting a less expensive printer makes sense and replacing it if needed won't be a major expense. Sorry you had such a bad experience with the tank printer. I am really happy with mine but I do a lot of printing so it has saved me a lot of money for ink cartridges and I was replacing them often. My ink tanks are still pretty full, black is about at 50% and the color are all at about 75% and I have printed several hundred pages so far.  I bought a supply of ink refills but haven't used any yet.

Yeah, my black is about 1/2 and the colors are all barely used. They just won't print!! I am going to do one more you tube search for power cleaning the nozzle heads and see if I can find one that gets me to the proper menu. If I can/if it works, cool, if not the new printer is ordered.

Well, I'm having home printer problems too. I currently use a HP 310 ink tank type. The printer needs a head cleaning and I usually do it myself. Sometimes that works, sometimes it needs a more professional touch. If it bothers me too much, then a replacement will be required.

116 this morning. 21° when I got up.

Yesterday's high was 40°, today's forecast is 43°/20° and fair. I guess meaning there will be some sun!

Noting much on agenda for today. At some point this week I am going to finally close my old bank account. Everything and all payments have now definitely been switched over to the new one and I can finally cash out of the old account.

107 this morning. Our high yesterday was 70° and today it is supposed to only get to 63° and windy but so far it is calm.

I am off this morning for an appointment with my cardiologist to see if he will clear me for the colonoscopy next week. I'm not thrilled about any of that but I guess it is what I need to do.

106 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 39°, today's forecast is 47°/23° and sunny. Looks like a few nice days ahead. 18° when I went out to feed the cats. Outside water bowls all frozen solid. Inside their house 40° and water not frozen...

Hope all goes well at cardiologist Wally so you can get that other test over soon!

I think today I'm going to run to town and close out my old checking account. I need to pick up more strips so might as well get the banking done too.

98 this morning. Our high yesterday was 64° and windy as predicted. The high winds all over the Southland have been pretty bad and one fire that started yesterday morning has bloomed into over 14,000 acres and has destroyed several homes. It is dry and the high winds are  making it really hard to get a handle on it. These are multi million dollar homes so it is pretty bad.

My appointment with my cardiologist went quite well and he was happy with all of my tests which were several. I had a chest x-ray, blood tests, EKG and an electrocardiogram and ultrasound of my aortic arteries and all looked good so pretty happy with that. Now I just need to get through the colonoscopy next week.

80 this morning. Our high yesterday was 67° and it is supposed to be a warmer 72° today and we should be in the 70s for all of next week then cooling down into the 60s.

Yeah, it is a lot of tests but my cardiologist does these as a routine over time but he wanted all done before giving a release to the anesthesiologist for the colonoscopy. This was not required by the one I had last year but it is a new one and this is probably a good thing.

The fire that started Wednesday is still burning out of control and has now consumed over 20,000 acres and destroyed over 132 structures and damaged over 82 and there are probably more that have not been counted. Pretty devastating and at least the winds have calmed down but it is still a major fire.
