116 this morning.

Yesterday was 40° with some welcome sunlight late afternoon. Today's forecast is 41°/27° cloudy with possible light snow first thing this morning. I haven't gone out yet (just after 7am to feed cats) still dark and 19° so can't tell if any snow yet.

My biggest chore today is the crystal lady. She always manages to stress me out with her high energy and poking around all over. She hasn't mentioned buying everything again, I'll wait for it to come from her. sigh....I don't look forward to her visits.

107 this morning. Our high yesterday was 65° and we got just a light sprinkle this morning that did get the pavement kind of wet but really nothing. Kind of what I expected but I was hoping to see a bit more and that looks like the end of it. There is going to be a fair amount of snow in the mountains though so that is a good thing.

Well she pretty much said she couldn't afford any more crystals. She had been looking for things she could sell for cheap, but wanted good items. For a while I was OK taking a big hit, but by today we got to the point the very good crystals were coming out and she balked at the prices. Items that I paid from say $29 to over a hundred each piece, she was hoping for a few dollars and I just couldn't do that with these. I'll look for a higher end dealer up in town and see if I can find one that is interested and will appreciate what they are getting. I'll price well but not pennies on the dollar any more.

I have held on to them for years, I'm in no rush that I would literally give them away any more. What I have left is easily $10-$15,000 of inventory, maybe more. No way could she come up with even half of that!

120 this snowy morning.

Yesterday's high was 42° the snow never materialized, but it came overnight and is still lightly falling. Total only about an inch so far. Now forecasts include morning snow for today.... temps 40°/26°. So far it is light snow and I can just sweep it away with the snow broom.

II think I am going to just stay put the rest of the week. Nothing fancy for Thanksgiving, I'm doing a Cornish game hen in the air fryer, a three bean salad and I bought a single serving cheese cake and that is it. All of which I already have.

Here is what this morning looked like at 8am out the back window:

96 this morning. Our high yesterday was 59° and we did get a very small drizzle of rain on and off during the day but it only got the pavement a bit wet and really didn't do a lot. Still it was something but it is out of here now and it is just going to be cloudy and maybe windy.

I have a rack of baby back ribs and that is going to be my Thanksgiving dinner.

Yeah Barbara, I would not be willing to just give away such a collection. I have had good luck selling on Ebay and also Facebook Market Place so that is an option you may want to look into. They do have protections for sellers so it makes it safer. You can check Ebay and see what others are selling like items and what people are willing to pay for them.

I have been away from eBay for so long I don't think I even remember how to do things. I did do a quick look and mostly what I saw were Chinese dealers selling cheap lots, but I didn't really look very much. I'd rather sell to a shop locally, no shipping involved and I'd actually be face to face with the buyer. But I will look a little deeper on eBay. I'm not on Facebook at all and honestly don't think I want to try learning a whole new venue at this point, but who knows what will happen in the future?

She did have the grace to relieve me of the promise to sell exclusively to her which is good, I'll have no qualms selling elsewhere.

124 this morning.

40° was the high yesterday with snow most of the morning, though not much accumulation. Today's forecast is 37°/26° and mostly cloudy. Maybe some snow tomorrow.

Nothing really on agenda today. doing some rearranging in office and thinking ahead as to what I will want to use the room for when more of the crystals are gone and several more shelves are moved somewhere else.

I took the Cornish hen out of the freezer and put it in refrig yesterday afternoon, this morning it is still a big round hard hockey puck!! I'm afraid it won't thaw out by tomorrow. Sheesh!

88 this morning. Our high yesterday was 70° and it is supposed to be a cooler 62° today. The prediction for today this morning was for rain in the morning but nothing so far and it doesn't look like we will get anything.

I'm afraid it will take more than 1 day to thaw in the refrigerator but you may want to leave it out for a while to get it closer. I know you don't want to leave it out so it gets warm but it won't hurt for a little while then you can put it back in the fridge.
My ribs have already been cooked on the Traeger so I will just pop them in the microwave.

Yeah, I probably should have taken it out at least a day earlier. Usually I thaw it in the fridge and if it isn't ready one day I leave it for the next. But that defeats the "Thanksgiving Dinner" thought (though it really doesn't matter one way or the other...). On the bird packaging it says can thaw in micro but that will partially cook it and I don't want that. I'll take it out and put it under running water that should speed up the thawing.

114 this morning.

Yesterday was another 40° so right around the prediction. Today's forecast is 38°/23° with clouds. Not much on agenda for today, a little house tidying, and fixing my "Thanksgiving Dinner". There will be Facetimes with the kids and grands and some phone calls too so it will be a very nice day.

Putting the hen in a big bowl of water did the thawing trick yesterday. It only took a couple of hours and it was mostly thawed, then back in fridge. By this afternoon the rest should be thawed too. I'm going to spatchcock it so it will cook better in air fryer. If this works as recipe says, this could be my new go to way to fix the hens in the future!

Hope all who celebrate Thanksgiving day today have a lovely day and a great meal!!!

90 this morning. Our high yesterday was 64° and it looks like we will be in the mid 60s for a few days so kind of cool but not cold. No rain in sight for the next few days.

I slept in this morning and it felt good and now I am just going to take it easy and my Thanksgiving dinner is going to be baby back ribs that have already been cooked on the Traeger so just heating up in the microwave. My BIL is in Arizona with his family so it is just me today. Thanksgiving used to be a big gathering of family but most of them are gone now and my brother lives in Washington state so too far to travel for me.

99 this morning. Our high yesterday was 60° but it is going to start warming up a bit and we should be around 70° for the weekend. Kind of warm for the start of December but I will take it.

Well, Thanksgiving is over and now everyone is doing a mad Black Friday shopping spree. I am just watching on the news all of the people managing big crowds at stores in Los Angeles and would not want to be there. I looked an Amazon and there is nothing I want to get there even it may be on sale. I am at the stage where I just send gift cards and let them but what they want.

118 this morning. A bit of a late start.

39° was the high yesterday, and mostly sunny. Today's forecast is 41°/25° cloudy with some sun. We are heading into about a week of inversion so the cloud cover is going to keep ground temps lower while above it in the mountains it will be warmer. At least no snow or rain for a bit!

Yeah, I've never gone out shopping on Black Friday, just too crazy. I did find over the week a few items on Amazon that have been hanging on my Shopping List that were priced lower enough to make it worth getting them now. That's the extent of Black Friday for me! Everyone on my Christmas list gets Amazon gift cards so no more Christmas shopping for me!

I do have a bunch more things to take to Goodwill, but not going out today, maybe tomorrow.

Mumbai has started to record lows of around 60oF which is cool for here. And the temps are going to be quite low to where I am going.
