I'm not checking morning BG because I know it is going to be quite bad. Last night I had and ice-cream cone. Our maid's son passed his 9th grade exam and treated us all. I couldn't say No.

88 this morning.  We had a high of 88° yesterday and it should be the same today with the wind picking up later this afternoon.
Oh well SKB, sometimes it is impossible to pass up the temptation.  In my case I usually only have myself to blame.  Tomorrow is another day.
Barbara, I looked at the SalonPas patches and they have two different types, one has Lidocaine and the large patch has only Camphor, Menthol and Methyl Salicylate.  The one with Lidocaine apparently is only available in a 3" X 5" size.  I think that would be the most effective but it would take at least 4 to cover the area I need.  At $1.60 each it would get pretty expensive.  They also have a roll on that has Lidocaine that may be worth trying.  I have a muscle pain cream that has the camphor and menthol that I have only used a couple of times and it kind of works but not much.  I am thinking that I may try the roll on.  What I really want is to fix the cause but that may be down the road.  Thanks for the info, I had never heard of SalonPas before.

118 this partly cloudy morning.

58° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 67° and a low of either 31° or 44° depending on which site I look at. Leaning to a number between the two at this point.

Yeah Wally, I am still looking for relief for my knee. I am looking at the Voltaren cream and the SalonPas patches trying to decide which to try. The Aspercreme with Lidocaine works for a while but not any longer than the Arnica or CBD creams that I was using before.  Once I get the right eye done and get through all the drops I will tackle the knee issues.

I quite agree but I am not happy with the rising frequency of these tempting days.

84 this morning.  We got to 87° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 84° today.  A bit windy this morning but it is supposed to be light for most of the day.
Yeah SKB, I try to keep those times when I am tempted down to as few as I can but it doesn't always work.
I replaced my Fitbit Sense with the Apple watch a few months ago and the Sense had several of the same sensors and worked quite well but I am liking the watch better as I have gotten used to it.  One thing I like is that I can answer a phone call on it if my phone is in another part of the house but both are connected to my WiFi.  I often go to another part of the house and forget my phone so that is a good thing for me.  The Sense is a very good exercise tracker but the watch has more health features like an O2 sensor and an EKG sensor.  Because it is connected to the iPhone all results are recorded in the health app.  Apple is working on a blood glucose feature for the watch but it is not ready and it is not known when it may be.

91 this slightly cloudy morning.

59° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 62°/43° with a very slight chance of showers.

I always have my phone on me or next to me if I am on the computer or watching TV. It is my step counter plus my "Help I've fallen and can't get up" device. I very seldom get a call, sometimes texts from the kids but that is about it.

Wally,

I also opted for the GPS only Apple 7 watch. The features that you talk about are really helpful, however the ECG sensors are not so great and reliable. The heart rate monitor is pretty accurate. Somehow my step count does not tally with the actual steps. Compared to my Treadmill I get low step count but a higher cal consumption. The 8 series will have the BG sensor as well. How accurate it will be ? No idea. My guess is not very.

105 this morning.  We got to 84° yesterday and heading to 88° today.
SKB, I haven't had a chance to check how accurate the step count is with the Apple watch except with a small number of steps, around 100, but it seemed to be pretty close.  According to the latest rumors Apple is not happy with the accuracy of the BG sensor and will not be including it on the series 8 but we will not know for sure until later in the year.  I think the 8 is expected to be available around September but I am happy enough with the 7 and don't expect to upgrade.

Neither will I. These gadgets need to be used at least 3 years before they can be exchanged or thrown, but who knows, if they make an offer we can't refuse, then maybe.

95 this morning.  We got to 88° yesterday and it is expected to get to 95° today.  It looks like we will see a cooling trend starting Sunday.
Yeah SKB, I would consider upgrading if there were enough changes to make it seem worthwhile but it would probably be around 3 years.  I have had pretty good luck selling my phones that I have upgraded for a much better price than Apple is offering for a trade in and it makes upgrading easier.  I recently got the iPhone 13 to replace my iPhone SE 2020 which I will be putting on Ebay soon.  One of the reasons I wanted the iPhone 13 was for 5G.  I don't really need 5G but I guess I wanted it just because it was available.  For some reason when something new is out I just have to have it.  If the new watch had something I just felt I had to have I am sure I would get it.

103 this partly cloudy morning.

69° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 73°/44° with a pretty good chance of showers during the day and overnight.

I guess I am just not that interested in the "newest" gadgets, my phone counts my steps and that is about all I need at this point.

I will be sticking to the SE 2020 for much longer. We actually don't use even half of the features in the phone. It does a splendid job and I quite like the speed and the size.

102 this morning. We got to 93° yesterday and it is supposed to reach 97° today.  Overnight low was 70° but it is supposed to begin cooling down the next few days.  The drought in the West is really bad this year and reservoirs along the Colorado river are at an all time low.  Southern California depends on this foe a large part of their water so it doesn't look good.  Lake Mead which is close to Las Vegas is at a serious low level and the other day a barrel with a body in it was exposed.  Authorities speculate that there could be more.
Yeah SKB, the iPhone SE 2020 really did all I needed but I am just a gadget freak and sometimes I can't wait to get something new even though I don't need it.   ~tnk~

130 this rainy morning. Not totally surprised as I had one if those nights I couldn't get to sleep and ended up getting up really early. Stomach kind of iffy, glad I made a jar of ginger sun tea yesterday.

High yesterday was 75°, today's forecast us for a much cooler 63°/45° with rain most of the day and evening and on and off Saturday. I still have 2 packages due via USPS, I hope my road doesn't turn into a mud suck or she won't drive down to deliver them.

Wow Wally! A body in a barrel, holy smoke! Hope they don't find any more.

Today is my DS's 51st Birthday, I don't know how that is possible!! He is working today so they will celebrate tomorrow.
