108 this cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 51°, today's forecast is 58°/34° with a chance of rain in the afternoon.

Getting nervous about the next surgery. I know what to expect but still the nerves are creeping in...

Good luck with the battery Wally!

82 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 97° and it is supposed to be the same today.  It looks like that is where we will be for most of the rest of the month except for a couple of days when we will get all the way down to 90°!  Our overnight lows are around 60° so the mornings are quite nice outside and we get to the high around 3:00 PM.

125 this slightly cloudy morning. I think the nerves are getting to my #'s...

61° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is a much warmer 75°/49° with a fairly good chance of rain overnight.

I was going out to feed the yard tigers and lo and behold a kitten popped up from under the deck! Another one poked its head through the lattice but quickly withdrew when it saw me. Oh dear! I thought, well only 2 is OK since most of last year's litters have moved on. A couple hours later there were 4 kittens on the deck trying to eat the kibble and tumbling around. And just like that the colony is back to last year's numbers. Le sigh... They are awfully cute though!

That's almost as high as we get here only that the humidity is also very high here. In fact Southern India is already getting a lot of rain. It's probably a disturbance in the pressure and not the monsoons.

84 this morning.  Another 97° yesterday and probably the same today.  Yeah SKB, a big difference here is that our humidity is around 15% so it's not nearly as bad to live with.  Most of the time we use evaporative coolers for the house and with the low humidity they work quite well and are cheaper to run than refrigeration units.  We do have a refrigeration unit on the house and sometimes we get a push of tropical weather from the South and our humidity can get a lot higher and then we use the refrigeration air unit.  Either way the house stays quite comfortable and I have no problem staying inside.
I think I am going to try doing the battery replacement for the Mackbook today.

105 this partly cloudy morning.

72° was the high yesterday, did have a hard rain late in the evening. Today's forecast is 71°/47°.

Tomorrow is the surgery. I haven't gotten the call yet as to time of surgery. If it is really early like last time I may not be able to post until I get home. Don't worry if I'm not here in the morning.

Hope the battery change goes well Wally.

99 this morning.  We got to 96° yesterday and it should be the same today but heading to 100° tomorrow and Thursday.  On the plus side the humidity is 14%.
Good luck on your surgery Barbara.  Hope it goes easy and well.
I got the new battery installed but the laptop is not starting up.  I think that there is a cable that may not be fully seated.  This is a very tedious job, all of the connectors are small and have a retainer on the socket that is hard to see.  Everything is glued down so it is quite a job the get it loose.  After getting several connectors unfastened and removing the logic board you have to pry the battery loose from the adhesive and it is in 6 parts!  Then you have to remove all of the residual glue from the case.  That took about an hour by itself.  I got the new battery in place and glued down without a problem and then it was just a matter of putting everything back the way it came out.  The cable that goes from the logic board to the display is a flat cable and very thin and was glued down to the case and getting it unstuck was a challenge.  It could have been damaged getting it unstuck so I ordered a new one just in case so I am going to wait for it to get here before going back in.  Kind of disappointed it didn't fire up but I still think it will work. The cable is due here Thursday so it may be Friday before I go back in.

Surgery went well, but this time he used a Retrobulbar Block which froze my eye in place and made that whole half of my face numb for 6+ hours. Now I am having double vision and weird color flashes (normal for this procedure but annoying). He didn't use this the first timed and I'm sorry he did this time. It is going to make the healing process longer...

Wally you are so brave tackling an Apple product repair! Hope you get it up and running.

Wally,

You are brave indeed. I might have not attempted such a complicated procedure. Hope the MacBook is OK and work well.

Barb,

You too are very brave. The vision should clear up in a few hours.

101 this morning.  We had a high yesterday of 96° again and it is supposed to get to 100° today and tomorrow and then cooling down a bit.
I am not really that brave attempting the MacBook repair.  I go the laptop really cheap and thought it would be fun to try.  If it doesn't turn out to be successful I will be a bit disappointed but I felt it was worth the try.  I still think it may turn out OK.  The 12 inch MacKbook is not a very powerful computer and it had a few flaws but it is so small, light and thin it is very easy to take anywhere, almost like a large tablet, that makes it desirable.  Plenty of power for surfing the web and doing email which is what I would use it for.  If it doesn't work out I may buy a new MacKbook Air eventually.
Barbara, Glad you have the surgery behind you.  It may take some time to heal but it should be fine in a few days.

128 this cloudy morning.

68¸° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 64°/34° with a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.

What a difference from yesterday to today! The pad and shield are off my eye and vision is better than it has been in years. My current glasses make it worse, the rx in my last ones works better. I do have to say that drug he used knocked me for a loop yesterday. Fell asleep in the recliner until 6AM and then in bed until almost 10AM. My internal time clock is all messed up but I am feeling better today. Doing everything w/out glasses! Amazing! I know I will need new glasses once all healed, but I can see they will be less strong.

115 today morning.

Barbara, that is great news. Every day will get better and in a few days all the surgery stuff will be a part of history and small chatter.

Wally, hope the battery replacement works well and the MacBook is usable. It would be a shame to just throw it away.
