106 this morning.  Well it got to 100° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today then cooling down just a bit to the high 80s through the weekend.
Off in a bit to see the orthopedist and find out if the MRI showed anything.
SKB, yeah I wouldn't like to throw it away but if that ends up happening it would not be tragic.  I got the new cables and will probably try tomorrow as I have a doctors appointment later and might not want to start after I get back but it is not a rush.  Actually if it does end up being successful I may end up selling it and getting a new one eventually.

122 this partly cloudy windy morning.

Wally, I love my MacBook Air! You won't regret getting one at some point.

65° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is for a cooler 49°/36° with a slight chance of rain.

Hoping today will be a better day. I was so out of kilter yesterday, I guess an after effect of the meds from the day before.

98 this morning.  We got to a hot 102° yesterday but it is going to be a cooler 88° today and maybe a bit windy.
The MRI was interesting.  It showed things that the CT scan and X-rays did not show.  Those showed taht I had disks that were compressed that happen over time but the MRI showed that I have calcium build up on the inside of the hole in the vertebrae that the nerve passes through and that is pinching the nerve.  He has increased the dosage of the Gabapentin for the nerve pain and wants me to continue some of the exercises and do a follow up visit in 4 weeks.  I may then get a referral to the spine specialist.  He said that injections may be useful but that would be up to the spine specialist.  I have been hoping for that referral for a long time.

117 this cloudy morning.

55° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is56°/36° with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

It is interesting to me that my distant vision is very good now, I do need my older rx glasses to see clearly on the computer. I told my Opthalmist that I wanted to wear my glasses and not have to take them off and put on for other things so hopefully my new glasses will reflect that wish. June 10 is when I go in for the exam.

Hope you are able to get relief Wally. Sounds like you got some more answers. Hope you are able to see the spine specialist.

Knee is sore again today. Not sue if the patches have stopped working or because I missed using them on Wednesday set me back. I'm hoping that by getting back on schedule my knee will improve again.

I'm sure the specialist would have some better solutions. Is it possible to remove or in some way to reduce that calcium deposit.

93 this morning.  A cooler 85° for a high yesterday and should be the same today then we will start to warm up again starting tomorrow.  Probably going to see 100° next week.
SKB, I don't know that it is possible to reduce the calcium deposits but that would probably need surgery.  The orthopedist I am seeing thinks that injections may be the solution but I have to get a referral from him to see the spine specialist.  So far he hasn't gotten there.  Maybe he is trying to milk it and get more visits, I don't know.  We have spine specialist that come here from the University of Southern California Keck Medical Center but you have to have the referral to see them.
Well, the attempt to install a new battery in the MacBook is a fail.  I went back in and one of the sockets on the main board was damaged and the pins were bent out of shape badly.  There is no way to fix that.  I don't know how I did it but they are so small and delicate somehow I did.  I am not too upset, the laptop did what I wanted and I found out that I liked the Mac OS and really liked the size and portability of the device.  My old Lenovo Windows laptop is so much bigger and heavier the difference is amazing.  I like the MacKbook so much I went ahead and bought a new MacKbook Air.  I got the base model and didn't see a need to get the additional ram or larger hard drive.  This new model MacKbook Air is light years ahead of my old laptop and will do anything I would ever need.  It has the new M1 chip and comes with 8G of ram and a 256 GB hard drive.
Sorry SKB, I didn't get it from Amazon, I bought it direct from Apple.  Using my Apple card I got 0% interest for 12 months and even got $36 cash back on the card.  There is a delay in the delivery, it is scheduled to ship from June 1 to 7 so I have to wait a bit.
The Windows desktop I have is pretty powerful and anything that I want to do that may be fairly intensive it will handle it but for web surfing and email the laptop would be great.  I am thinking that I may use the MacKbook for my daily use and fire up the desktop when I need more power.
I am thinking of trying to install Linux on my old Lenovo just to play around with it.  I have always wanted to try Linux, well I have tried a few years ago without much success but there has been a lot of changes since then and it looks like it has grown up a lot.  Just something to play around with.
Wow, I really got long winded today didn't I.

Am unexplainable 139 this cloudy morning.

58° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 56°/36°.

Knee back to normal today after using the patches on schedule yesterday. Thank goodness!

Sorry your battery replacement didn't work Wally. Apple sure knew what they were doing making the product basically unrepairable by the average person. They got what they aimed for...you bought a new one. I do love my MacBook Air though, I use it for everything that I need. I will buy another when this one gets to the pink screen of death.

That's alright Wally. Like I said, we are already covered for our annual expense and that's good enough. We don't need anything extra from our Amazon account.

Well, that's sad, but congratulations on the attempt and for the new MacBook.

That's exactly what I do, but I use an ASUS laptop and not Apple. It serves all my home and work needs and so far so good. But I like the compactness of the Lenovo Yoga that my wife uses. Maybe I will go in for that as a replacement when I need one, maybe with a faster and more storage configuration.

It could be the patch Barbara. Just a thought but it does have some merit.

I hadn't thought about the patch. Interesting idea, but it works so well for the knee that it is a real trade off, good knee or bad bg....sheesh can't win...

105 this morning.  We got to 87° yesterday and it is supposed to be 92° today. It is a bit of a warming trend and we may have a couple of days around 100° next week but mostly in the 90s through the end of the month.
I still but a lot from Amazon and the PDF you posted works just fine.  I have it on my desktop where it is handy. I bought an external SSD yesterday and it showed diabeticpub on the first page but I did a lot of searching and opened several pages so I hope that doesn't affect the credit.
Another disappointment yesterday.  I tried to install a Linux distro on my Lenovo laptop and it will not install.  This laptop is strange.  It came with Windows 8 and was upgraded to Windows 10 and the bios is set for Windows and will not recognize anything else.  I think it has something to do with their one key recovery that is built in to it.  Oh well, it was just an idea for something to play with.
Barbara, I am glad the patch is working for you.  I didn't think the patch would work for me because my nerve pain is not in the same place and it is at different times so I bought the liquid roll on and I have used it a couple of times.  The liquid roll on also has the 4% Lidocaine but I am not sure it is really helping yet.

Another unexplainable high 135 this partly cloudy morning. I sure hope these high numbers aren't because of the patch as skb suggested as a possibility. The pain relief is not something I want to give up.

Yesterday's high was 59°, today's forecast is 62°/39°. Nothing like your temps Wally!

Going to try to stay awake this evening so hopefully my step count can come back up. Sheesh, I don't know what is wrong with me now...

No that should not discredit us. It should count.

The patch relieves the pain because it is medicated. The drug within the patch is entering your blood stream and therefore it must be causing the imbalance with the BG. Otherwise, if there is something new or different that you would be doing, you'd know about it. That was my logic.

The patch contains 3.1% Camphor, 6.0% Menthol, and 10% Methyl salicylate all topical analgesics. Don't know if they would effect bg. But I just remembered I am also putting steroid drops in the eye just operated on and will be for the next 2 weeks. Maybe that is what is messing with my numbers??? The first week drops 4x/day are Prednisolone Gatifloxacin Ketorolac. The second and third week are 4x/day Prednisolone Ketorolac. Just did a Bing search and yes, steroids can increase bg #'s. From what I can find Menthol and Camphor don't. Guess that answers my question. Thank goodness, I'd hate to give up the patches!!
