We should have rains in the next two weeks or so, though it did drizzle a few days ago.

101 this morning.  We had a high of 98° yesterday, just below the predicted 100° and it should be a bit cooler today but it will get windy later and through the weekend.  Tomorrow they are talking about winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts as high as 50 MPH.
I'm getting bored and anxious to get the new MacBook Air I ordered but it is still a week or so out.  I bought it direct from Apple as they had an offer of 0% interest if you use the Apple card and then you get cash back of $31 so it looked like a good deal but I see there are new MacBook Airs on sale for $100 less and in stock an another dealer.  Oh well I already placed my order so I guess I will just wait.

108 this cloudy morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is for a much cooler 70°/51° with periods of rain.

I have 3 different deliveries coming today so not going out to shop until tomorrow. Not worried about porch pirates, but just like to be home to receive deliveries.

My neighbor (that took me for eye surgery) told me about another food delivery service called Azure which delivers in a refrigerated truck locally once a month. Basically all organic, I took a chance and ordered a bunch of stuff which will be delivered to me in the parking lot of the larger grocery store in town on June 9. They email the time to expect it. I tried HungryRoot but the food came FedEx and by the time it got to me, all the perishables were thawed out and I had to toss them. Hopefully this new service will work better.

Wally, that is true. Excitement and patience don't go hand in hand, and having placed the order, I guess you will have to wait.

That sounds great. Hope that they make it on the given time and there is no waiting involved.

Yeah, I am excited about this and if it really works out, it will cut my shopping time by a huge amount!

I think now I have to really look into Chewy for the cat food...

It could make it so I never have to go shopping again... Yeah no, not going to happen...LOL.,..

81 this morning.  We got to 96° yesterday but it got quite windy later in the afternoon and through the night.  It is supposed to be about 10° cooler today and windy although it is calm right now.  I am sure that it will pick up later.
I am lucky after moving to town Walmart and the Albertsons grocery store are only a mile away and both have "curbside pickup".  It is really easy to place an order on my phone and just drive to the store and everything is loaded into the car, easy peasy!
Barbara, hope your delivery works out well.

111 this cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 70°, today's forecast is 60°/46° with possible periods of rain.

I went out early to run my errands. Knee held up pretty well but by the time I got home and unloaded the car it was starting to ache so I put a small patch on it and hope it takes care of the problem.

Yeah I am really hoping Azure works out. At least since it comes in a refrigerated truck I shouldn't have to throw out 1/2 the order.

Technology has certainly made things a lot easy. With India's manpower, delivery systems are really good. Lot's of apps have sprung up to deliver any and everything. Though in the rural scenario I really don't know how good or bad things are. I think that the spread of these apps is really good up to even smaller towns. Smaller than that, no idea really.

97 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 91° and the wind picked up around noon and it was heavy the rest of the day and all night long.  Right now it is only 12 MPH but it will pick up in a bit and windy the rest of the day.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be 85° and calm winds so great for a BBQ on the holiday.
Delivery here in town has been no problem but when I lived up on the mountain it was OK for UPS and USPS but others were sketchy.  Things like door dash or pizza delivery were non existent, too far for them to come.

113 this cloudy morning.

62° was the high yesterday, few showers overnight. Today's forecast is 62°/42° with showers afternoon and evening and tomorrow too.

Living in the boonies does have its drawbacks when considering home delivery services. Basically nonexistent here. UPS, FedEx are the best USPS has its flaws, not much in the way of food or any other delivery... oh well, I like the peace and quiet!

True. Many times you mention that you have to go out to the road where your mailbox is, to collect your deliveries. I wonder how far that is.

96 this morning.  We had a high of 88° yesterday and it was quite windy as predicted.  Today the high is supposed to be 86° and light wind so a good day for a BBQ.  Today is Memorial Day in the USA where we honor those that have died in combat.  It is also looked at as the first day of Summer.  There are also a lot of BBQs being fired up today.
I really enjoyed living up on the mountain and was up there for over 25 years but it got to be too much of a chore and we had a chance to get a home in town at a very good price.  We both decided that it would be a good idea to move to town so we did.  This isn't a large town, about 30,000 population but there are good things here and it is close to medical facilities and shopping.  It used to be a 60 mile round trip to go shopping or to see a doctor.  Now it is never over 6 miles and I usually fill my gas tank when it gets to half full about every 6-8 weeks.  With gas prices here around $6 a gallon that sure adds up in a hurry.

98 this cloudy, drizzly morning.

65° was the high yesterday with periods of drizzle. Today looks to be about the same with a forecast of 60°/45° and drizzle through the day. Maybe the drizzle will keep the fireworks down tonight. What kind of person shoots off fireworks for Memorial Day?

Fell asleep in the recliner last night, didn't wake up until 5:45AM whole day is feeling fuzzy at this point.

skb, it is only about 1/3 mile up to the road, but it is just inconvenient to have to haul the garbage up there or go up to pick up deliveries.

Wally, I am 60 miles round trip from my drs, fortunately there are a couple decent grocery stores in this little town. Hopefully the Azure delivery will go well and cut down some on my shopping adventures.

I'm assuming that your gallon is 4.5 liters. Petrol is available in Mumbai at $ 6.45 a gallon (today's rates and prices). In most parts of the country it is cheaper as the taxes are not so high as here.

I haven't bought gas in a while. Don't remember how much it was then ,,,somewhere over $4/gal. I'm at 1/2 tank and may refill soon. Gas prices vary so much from one place to another.
