97 this morning.  We got to 102° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 105° today.  Winds may pick up later in the day.  It will be cooler tomorrow and windy.
Thanks SKB, I will try that next time I have a link.  Much better than posting a very long link in a post.
I am still working on learning as much as I can about the Apple OS on my new MacBook.  I really like this little guy and there is a lot you can do with it but many things are different enough from Windows it takes some time to learn how to do things.  The nice thing is that there is automatic sync with my phone and iPad so if for instance if I take a picture with my phone it is also on my iPad and Mac.
I always wondered why Apple used a lower case "i" as the first letter for all of their products and found this from Steve Jobs :

Apple has been using a lowercase "i" to begin many of its product names ever since Steve Jobs introduced the first iMac computer on May 7, 1998.  His explanation for the "i" at the time was as follows:

iMac comes from the marriage of the excitement of the Internet with the simplicity of Macintosh.  Even though this is a full-blooded Macintosh, we are targeting this for the #1 use that consumers tell us they want a computer for, which is to get on the Internet -- simply, and fast.  And that is what this product is targeted for.

100 this partly cloudy morning.

52° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is for a much higher 86°/40°. Kind of hope it doesn't get that high...sigh.

Knee still aches but finger seems much better. The bandaging went better yesterday, hope it continues to get easier. This has all been so exhausting...

Wally that's very interesting, why the 'i' was used. Learning is my second nature too. It keeps my mind occupied and I have a tendency to get deeply engrossed in the subject. As I've said earlier my interest lies towards the software side of things and I like to keep toying with ideas and things. Though I once owned a franchise of an IT learning company and ran 4 centers in Mumbai for them, I am completely self taught and ill-literate where IT is concerned. Looking back at the things that I managed to accomplish, this Forum being one of them, I'm quite satisfied, that I did a good job.

102 this morning.  We had a high of 104° yesterday but it is going to be cooler today with a predicted high of 90° but windy and that has already started this morning.
Yeah SKB, I always wondered why Apple used the lower case i in their naming of products so I looked it up.  Another trivia item is why the apple logo that they use has a bite out of it.  When Steve Jobs had a graphics designer working on a logo he wanted it to be plain and simple so the designer came up with the apple without the bite and Steve liked it but when showing it around many thought it was a strawberry and Steve was not happy so the designer put the bite in it and now everyone  recognised it as an apple.
I also think you have done quite a good job.

117 this sunny morning. I think the Keflex is starting to mess with my bg. Three more days to go on it.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 89°/50° sheesh, I hope not!

skb, you have done an exceptional job setting up and keeping this forum running. You definitely should be proud of yourself!!

Well, thank you, but that was not the intent. Apart from the forum, I have carried out many tasks on s/w side of things which I think people just shrug off if they don't have a formal education in the subject. That need not be the case. Curiosity is a big plus with education.

105 this morning.  We had a high of only 89° yesterday and it is supposed to be 85° today and windy.  No wind right now but picking up later.
Yeah SKB, I think curiosity has been a big driver in my wanting to learn about things.  It has also kept me from just sitting around staring at a television or computer.  I like to try and learn new things and it has given me a lot of enjoyment in retirement.

114 this cloudy morning.

82° ended up being the high yesterday, I don't like the heat so I was fine with that. Today looks to be much cooler with a forecast of 69°/55° with a really good chance of some rain, not sad about that.

My new glasses have been in since Tuesday but I just didn't have the oomph to drive up to town to get them, maybe on Monday...

102 this morning.  We only got to 84° yesterday but it is going to start warming up now.  We will be back to 100+° next week.
I am using the new Mac for the first time to post this morning.  I wanted to learn how to do a couple of things first.  First how to copy and post a JPG to the quotes thread and how to get the degree symbol.  That is simply shift+option+g. simple when you learn how.

114 this partly cloudy/drizzly morning.

65° was the high yesterday. A huge thunderstorm with huge hail blew through in the afternoon. The hail was the largest I think I have ever seen garbanzo bean sized and larger! Today's forecast is 60°/48° with rain on and off all day.

Wally on my MacBook Air I get the ° sign with option/shift/* if I try your option/shift/g I get ˝ interesting. Mine is a 2018 version.

Today is my last day on the Keflex, been feeling kind of fuzzy through the week, hope it goes away once I am done. It is bad enough trying to redo the bandage each day on my finger. 3 more weeks of that, ugh!

Well isn't that interesting.  On Windows there is a character map that has all of the ASCII letters and symbols and it is easy to copy and paste any of them but the Mac does not have that.  I found one on line for the Mac OS, mine is running the newest Monterey version so I don't know if that makes a difference.  Funny though that yours is different.  It seems that the Mac OS uses a lot of keyboard shortcuts if you want to use them.  Windows has a lot of keyboard shortcuts also but I have never used them as usually it is easier to click on something.  Like here on Windows at the bottom of this window it shows a shortcut of ALT+S to post but I prefer to just click the post button but if someone doesn't want to use the mouse maybe the shortcut would be necessary.

I'm still operating on Mojave. I have tried multiple time to update it but it always times out. I guess my internet isn't powerful enough to get through it. Oh well, as long as it keeps working I am OK.

Forgive me, but I have to say this.

This Forum uses a software known as SMF (Simple Machines Forum) which has inbuilt features to do the things that you want to, irrespective of the OS (Operating Software) that you are using. For instance, the shortcuts Alt+S to post, Alt+P to preview. These are SMF shortcuts.

To upload images to the posts, I would click on the following;

Attachments and other options / Add Files / Select the image to post / Upload / Insert. (Click on Insert only if you want to Insert the image within the posts as we do in The Quotes thread. If Insert is not clicked, the image goes in as an attachment thumbnail which can then be clicked to view in original size.

For the degree symbol there is no need to remember the ASCII codes. I type the small "o" and then select it and use the Superscript button You cannot view this attachment. to do the needful.

I guess we all go by what we learn as we learn to use a new computer system. Especially me as one who has no computer experience other than turning it on. I don't do anything other than read/post on this and one other forum and check weather with an occasional search. It connects me to the outside world and that is all i need. Not a gamer or anything needing high power not a geek here!
