109 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 100° and it is supposed to get to 104° today.  No wind though although a breeze in the afternoon would be welcome.
Yeah, I have no desire to go back to the old forum but I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of activity they had.  Nothing like it used to be.

106 this morning.

Yesterday was a good/bad day. The high was 81°, fierce thunderstorm in the evening. Got through errands and pick up in good weather. Got home mostly unpacked car and sat down to relax. Had my dinner and was enjoying watching TV. Then all he!! broke loose! It was the worst thunderstorm I have ever experienced. Hail wasn't golf ball sized but much bigger than the last storm. I was really afraid with the wind it would break a window. TV went out and shortly after the power was out. I guess it was good the freezer was full and the fridge too. (Power out for 4 hours.) Didn't open either until this morning.

Today's forecast is 86°/52° again with thunderstorms in forecast. This is global warming???

I don't think so. This is a weather disturbance. Happens on and off. Talking about weather, it has been raining heavily in our area, since 29th June. On certain days the daily precipitation is more than 8 inches. The season's total has crossed a meter. And we're only in the first week of July.

97 this morning.  We got to 102° yesterday 2° lower than the predicted high but it is supposed to get to 105° today.  Bright and sunny with no wind.
No real change in the sciatica and the orthopedist said he would refer me to a spine specialist but I have not heard from them yet.  I guess I will have to call next week and see they have gotten the referral.  I have tried to increase my walking but if I do more one day it makes it harder to do as much the next day.  On the plus side I am able to get  around and do things for myself and it improves as the day goes on.

129 this sunny morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 85°/53° with again a chance of thunderstorms in afternoon...I hope not!

I sure hope the spine specialist can help you Wally.

84 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 102°, a couple of degrees under the predicted high but they are saying 107° today.
Yeah, I am going to call and find out what is going on with the referral and hope I get an answer.
Another forest fire started Thursday in Yosemite National Park and is threatening more Giant Sequoias.  It is 0° contained as of today.  Low humidity and high temps are making it hard to control.  The drought in the Western continues to cause problems.  Some of these trees are over 2000 years old but they have never had to deal with these conditions.

106 this partly cloudy morning.

79° was the high yesterday, a small thunderstorm went through in the evening a bit of rain but no hail and no more thunderstorms in forecast. Today's forecast is 79°/51°.

With all the wet weather we have had lately, I worry that we will have a bad fire season here also. It breaks my heart to hear that the Sequoias are threatened there in CA Wally. I used to live near them when I lived in Arnold, CA they are beautiful treasures of nature!

Wow. What a pity if they end up with fire. Obviously they have never dealt with this situation before.

89 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 105° and they say it is supposed to get to 109° today so June in the desert.  Humidity is 21% right now but it will be single digit by noon.
Yeah, the fire continues to grow and it is right next to the Sequoias.  The interesting thing is that these trees have developed to benefit by fire on occasion but not with these conditions.  Now with the years of drought and high temps they are not able to withstand fires and the 500 trees in this grove are at high risk.  Fire crews are working hard to try to save them.

119 this clear sunny morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 86°/46° clear and sunny.

I hope the Sequoias can be saved. I read somewhere long ago that the seeds need a fire to pass over the ground in order to germinate. However the conditions are so different now that probably is not what would happen in fire conditions.

I wish them all the luck that they would need. Trees, that old should not die an unnatural death.

99 this morning.  Well, we did get to the predicted high of 109° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today.  Days like today I am glad that we have a refrigeration unit on the house.  The evaporative cooler will only drop the temp inside about 20° so when it gets over 100° we turn on the refrigeration unit.
Off in a bit for a dental cleaning then back home before it gets too hot.

109 this sunny morning.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 96°/48° I sure hope it doesn't get that high. My maximum comfort temp is 85° or below... I get the forecasts off my phone weather app and usually it is higher than it actually gets here, so fingers crossed.

123 this morning. Late to rise, so a bit higher than expected.

Weather wise, we are going through heavy rain for the past 10 days. The satellite image doesn't show any dry patches in the near future.
