108 this morning.  Our high was 104° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 108° today.  A heat wave is going to be felt through all of Southern California with record high temps in some areas.  Here we will see highs around 111°-112° through the week end then it will start to cool down.
Yeah SKB, I am looking forward to being able to get off this O2 machine.  I see my cardiologist next week and maybe I can get a better idea of where I stand and what I can expect.

126 this sunny morning. Don't know where that came from...

77° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is for a warmer 95°/46° but I'd be happy with just 85°.

We're reading and seeing nature's fury at display in our neighborhood. Pakistan is seeing some of the worst floods of the century. I was astonished to learn that the July rainfall has been 780% more than normal. Climate change for sure.

124 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 104° but heading to 111° today and that is where it will sit for the next few days.  All of Southern California is feeling the heat and a few records may be broken.
My oh my SKB, that is just phenomenal!

81° was the high here yesterday, today's forecast is 98°/46° again hoping it doesn't get that high.

Wow skb! That is frightening!

Yup. More than 1/3rd of the country under water, more than 3.5 million displaced and over 1500 dead. Calamity of the greatest magnitude. The worst part they are completely broke and have no money to manage this. Hoping that international help arrives soon.

87 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 110° and it is supposed to get to 111° today.  It is hot everywhere and there is one brush fire at about 5000 acres right now.
SKB, that is a monumental disaster, sorry for all of the people and their loss.
I have been introduced to a program covered by Medicare that has a "personal care coordinator" to work between you and your PCP so that you have someone that you can call at any time and get any answers from your PCP or anything that is bothering you.  It is available to anyone on Medicare that has at least two chronic problems.  I have diabetes and high blood pressure among other things and that is all it takes.  The lady that is my contact is a RN with a great personality and her whole job is to act as your direct contact to your PCP and deal with any other problems you may have.  I never knew this existed but I am pretty happy I was introduced to it.

113 this sunny morning. Running a bit high again lately.

82° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 92°/54°.

How did you find out about that program Wally? I have never heard about it before.

That is a great concept. When something like that comes up here, maybe I can volunteer for that.

Have been reading about the California heat wave and the fires. But it is going to get cooler now that we're in Sept.

Swear I already posted here, but guess I forgot to send it...

No bg this morning, I was really sick and throwing up last evening. Even was very sweaty. Already threw up once this morning. Haven't been able to keep anything down since yesterday lunchtime. Gently sipping ginger tea, that seems to be helping some.

Took my temp a bit ago it was 98.7° so that is good. Going to be taking it easy the next few days. I hope whatever this is it is on the way out!!

116 this morning.  Our high was 111° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 113° today.  Yeah SKB, we are going to see these high temps through next weekend then it will start to cool down.  Some areas in Southern California are seeing temps a lot higher than they are used to and having a hard time coping with it.  It is hot here but we are used to it.
Barbara, the program is offered by Medicare but you have to be introduced to it by your PCP.  Also there has to be someone that is in that position.  Here my PCP is with the local hospital and the lady that is the rep for the program also works for the hospital.
Bunner you are sick, get better soon!

I suppose the coordinator has a guaranteed access to the Dr at all times, and with smaller issues her role will be to just advice you on things that you need to do. As a RN can she also prescribe any drugs (maybe a limited range)?

It is really interesting Wally, when I see my pcp next year I will look into it.

Feeling much better tonight. Even got some chicken &/broth and a bit of yogurt down...and it all stayed there!

I am thinking I may have had bit of heat exhaustion yesterday. It was 91* as we stood in the sun waiting for the truck to be unloaded. They tried a new method ...unloading everything before you could pick up your groceries. Fortunately it is a well refrigerated truck and nothing unthawed. But this is for me a very stressful time and I have noticed my neighbors that introduced me to this haven't been here for a couple months.

The local grocery suits my needs mostly, I will miss the blood orange drink but convenience has to rule these days... it is hard to find good food theses days...but after this week my freezer is full of great organic foods!
