80 this morning.  Well, salad for dinner does make a difference.
Our high yesterday was 89° with an overnight low of 59° so quite nice.  No chance of rain here with bright sunny skies.

139 this mostly cloudy morning.

68° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 70°/45°.

Man yesterday was a rough day!! I had 2 nose bleeds one in the morning lasted 45 minutes really heavy. One in the late evening I got under control in about 20 minutes. Really drained me and then I didn't sleep most of the night. So a mess today. I swallowed so much blood my stomach is still slightly upset. Barely ate anything all day yesterday.

I am going to have overdue bills if I don't go out today, but I don't think I can. I don't want to be out and have another bleed.

ETA 10:25 well glad I didn't try to go out, my nose started bleeding again about 9:40. Just about stopped now, I don't know why this is happening.

I think you should see a doctor about this. Please don't ignore.

79 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 93°, actually a couple of degrees higher than predicted but still not bad at all.  Right now enjoying the cooler weather but would love to see some more rain but none seen in the predictions for the rest of the month but that could change.
Yeah Barbara I agree with SKB that you should see a doctor about the recuring nose bleeding.  An  ENT would probably be able to offer a solution.  I had nose bleeding like that when I was younger, around 8-10 years old, and my mother took me to an ENT and he said that there were things that could be done to correct the problem but he thought I would grow out of it and I did but apparently there are solutions that can resolve it.

97 this sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 69°, today's forecast is 73°/43°.

3 nose bleeds yesterday. Middle one was very light and stopped quickly. Woke up in the early morning to use the bathroom and had another small bleed. So I went and sat in the recliner for about an hour. I finally did something you are not supposed to do with a nose bleed, I blew my nose! Lo and behold there was a piece of tissue in the nostril that has been bleeding. It came out and the bleeding stopped almost immediately. I had been stuffing that nostril with tissue to catch the blood, I guess a piece broke off and that was irritating my nose.

So far today so good, Hope I am going to be able to go out today...

ETA: Slept fairly well last night.  Spoke too soon, have a small bleed starting, hope I can stop it soon.

Maybe from where the tissue was torn apart. You seem to be on the mend re the nose bleeds.

My meter has gone kaput on me. It won't start even with a new battery. I have many meters but no strips, so Amazon here I come. Unfortunately, these purchases do not count. Did I tell you that's it's raining a lot. Unusual for Sept, but that is the way it is.

skb, I have many One Touch Ultra strips that I don't use any more. I would happily send them to you if you can use them.  My only other option is to throw them away. I'll even send you the meter (may need batteries as haven't used it in over a year).

Let me know if you want them and pm me your addy and I'll gladly send them to you.

Thank you so much for the offer Barbara. I have ordered a new meter and it should be with me tomorrow. The new meter with 5 strips has cost me all of $ 3.03 (current rates). I already have the strips so all I wanted was the meter. If you were to ship me your meter and strips it would cost at least 10 times more than that. Besides, I have so many meters, that my wife is insisting that I throw away the old one, once the new one arrives.

106 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 91° with an overnight low of 61° so pretty nice all day.
I used to but strips on Amazon that were sold by third party sellers at a good price for my Contour Next meter but they all quit selling on Amazon for some reason and I found an on line seller called Diabetic Warehouse that sells them at a decent price so I am using them now.  Actually I just checked and now they are available on Amazon with sold by and shipped by Amazon now at a bit lower price so I will buy them at Amazon next time.
I got rid of all of my old meters and now just have the one Contour Next meter that is my main one and linked to the app on my phone that keeps a record of my readings and one more I have for a back up.

97 this partly cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 69°, today's forecast is 72°/45° with a chance of rain.

2 small bleeds yesterday early that I stopped quickly, then fine rest of day. Slept like a log last night. Nose seems fine today, hope it stays that way. Knee even feels better.

I was thinking I should go out today but I'd rather have one totally OK day before I do. Plus the PO is closed today so no mail would go out any way. Tomorrow looks like errand day.

Sorry you can't use the strips skb. I guess my only option left is to just toss them. :(

Yes. I guess ultimately they will have to move into the trash. Additional electronic waste. All of my old(er) meters are in perfect working condition. It just doesn't make economic sense to buy the strips when they run out. This is the old Japanese business concept of selling the principal equipment at a loss and making money from consumables. Imagine the dilemma a buyer faces. My new meter + 5 strips cost $3.03, and 100 strips cost $20.73. That is why I keep collecting new meters.

103 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 84° so cooling down nicely.  Probably around the same for the rest of the week then warming up on the weekend.
Over all I have been pretty happy with the Contour Next One and plan to stay with it.  I did try the Dario just because I was intrigued with how it worked with your phone and it did work OK but even though they show you how small the unit is that doesn't show the whole story.  It has to be plugged into your phone so with the Dario and your phone together it becomes kind of difficult to handle. I decided it was not for me.

110 this partly cloudy morning.

70° was the high yesterday, early evening a big thunderstorm blew through. Lots of lightening, but fortunately lots of rain too. Today's forecast is 76°/44° with very small chance of rain.

Felt pretty good yesterday so I am going out today. I hope I don't have a problem with my natural gas co. that is the bill that will be late.

10:33 ETA: A person on the other forum I participate on suggested the meds in the patches may have been absorbed into my body and caused my blood to thin thus the nose bleeds. That thought had crossed my mind too so I stopped the patches Sat and I haven't had a bleed since. hmmm

I was thinking of acquiring one. I'm happy that your review changed my mind.

That's great news Barbara. The theory with the patches, blood thinning and nose bleeds doesn't sound very plausible to me, but I'm no expert.

Meanwhile, I think that my dumps continue. The morning number was 147 against the pre-dinner 95. That's a big jump.

I can't figure out where to place this. I have a question on India's reaction to QEII. I haven't watched any TV, just the other forum I am on (primetimer.com) which has followed all the steps of mourning and given a lot of history of the Monarch I am not aware of.

I have to admit I cried when the Queen's piper left the building, very moving. I just saw an article where India is repeating its claim to the Koh-i-nor. I don't know any of the history of this, but wasn't that the crown on her coffin? Sorry if this is out of line, but so much history has been thrown out in favor of the Crown, I just wonder what the backstory is.
