94 this morning. Our high yesterday was 71° and it is supposed to be the same today and we will start to cool down a bit but still in the 60s.

Yeah today is the Winter solstice and the first official day of Winter in the Northern hemisphere but it has been Winter like where you are Barbara and more Fall here so official it may be but different depending where you are. The thing that is the same for us all is that, yay, it is going to get lighter longer now but yes it does do it slowly but still it is going the right way.

Well, today is my laundry day so that will be my big thing for the day.

Collecting the garbage and doing some shredding are about all that is on the agenda for today. Need to get the rest of the Amazon gift cards ordered and then Christmas shopping will be done. The 3 little grands already got the gifts delivered.

Yeah, it will be a while before we really notice the longer days but not too long.

I got a new SSD for my computer that is 4Tb to replace my 1Tb SSD that was on sale for a pretty big discount so today I am going to clone my existing drive and put it on the new one then I am going to do some more upgrades but that will be in a couple of days. I have a new CPU and memory to install also and that will take some time. I have had the parts for a while and am just now getting ready to do the changes.

I am in awe of your computer expertise!! Having come very late to computers, just using them is often a challenge to me. Plus I am not electronically inclined in the least. Hope all your upgrades go smoothly!

Me too.
Back in the year 2000, I used to own 4 Computer Training Centers. In fact, we were tied up with a US company and were the first to use CBT (Computer Based Training). Nowadays, everything is CBT, but in those days it was something new to have an interactive software to train you and we had over 5000+ courses in our data bank. We had PCs strewn about everywhere, but we had the manpower to do all the hardware work, so I never took an interest in the thing, but it is not too difficult to pick it up even now, as most of the stuff is plug and play.

114 this morning.

I don't know how much, if any the double dose of antibiotics will affect my numbers. Pain in general will do some. It is aching today but Advil through the day should help. (see exercise thread for what happened)

Going to spend most of the day resting and trying to keep leg elevated.

I have been playing around with computers for several years ever since I bought my first 386 PC and found out that I could do the upgrading and then building new myself. That started probably around 1990 and I am self taught and started long before YouTube was around. That is one of the reasons that I have stuck with a Windows PC because I like to tinker and Mac computers do not allow that.

98 this morning. Our high yesterday was 69° and it is supposed to be the same today and we should be in the mid to high 60s for the next few days. They are looking at rain in the Los Angeles area but nothing here so just overcast.

I had a good conversation yesterday with my brother and sister in-law and wishing each other a happy Christmas and New Year. My brother has Parkinsons now and can't manage using a keyboard or the phone anymore so e-mail is not going to work anymore but mu Sister in-law is handling that for him. He is doing well other than that and they are actually planning a trip to Hawaii in a couple of months. They would like me to come there for a visit, Seattle, Washington, and I may try but it would be closer to the Summer.

My BIL left today for his place in Arizona so it is going to be me and the doggie here for Christmas and that is OK.

I did clone the SSD for my computer yesterday. It took a couple of hours to do it as there were several Gb of data to transfer but it is ready to install and I will probably get it and the other things I have to upgrade this desktop. Something to keep me busy and I will be glad to have it done. I hope it all goes as planned but I think it will be fine.

So sorry to hear that your brother has Parkinson's Wally. Sounds like they are going for enjoying their lives while they can, good for them!! I'll say a healing prayer for him.

I don't blame you for not wanting to travel/drive to Seattle this time of year.
