98 this morning. Our high yesterday was 59° and quite windy but nothing like the winds in the Los Angeles area. They had sustained winds of 30-40 MPH and gusts up to 80 MPH and as expected there are fires that are causing lots of damage. The winds are so strong they are not able to do much to fight these fires, 3 major ones as of now and many homes have been burned to the ground. The wind is not expected to calm down until probably Thursday so this is going to continue.  Right now over 30,000 have been evacuated and for many of them their home is now gone. 

Glad you got the 4WD working Barbara. Where you live it is a necessity.

Off in a bit to see my cardiologist and see what his take on my ER visit is. I will be interested what he has to say.

Those fires look awful! At least here Winter is not a fire season, with all the snow and bitter cold. In CA you have the Santa Ana winds to contend with and a much milder climate. It is always sad to see people lose everything. I watched a couple videos on Weather.com, very scary. Are you in any danger or are you far enough inland not to have the bad winds? I've forgotten some of my CA landmarks.

Hope all goes well at dr. Having the same dx, I'd be interested in what he has to say.

125 this morning. Late to post getting ready to go to pcp.

31° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 34°/20° cloudy morning and sun in the afternoon. One more nice day before some weather comes our way.

Leaving in just a few minutes for pcp appt.

Annoyed with Amazon. I have had a package "out for Deliivery/In Transit for 2 days. Tracking says it was in Missoula AM on the 7 (delivery day) and Out for delivery. Never came, then they said "Sorry it will be there the 8th by 10PM (they said that for the 7th)". Dodn't come. Now they say "Soory, will be delivered by the 10th or come back the next day for refund." The package was in Missoula, Out, then back to Missoula @11:30AM yesterday. Marked In Transit yesterday but not delivered. So what is up?? Did they lose it? And worst of all it was something I have been wanting for a while that sells out as fast as it is in stock. My order was the last one of that batch. I followed it enroute and now it supposedly has disappeared!! Phoey!

Not much else on agenda, done with appts for Jan.

96 this morning. Our high yesterday was 62° and it should be a bit warmer at 67° today. Yeah it was windy here but nothing like in the Los Angeles area on the other side of the mountains. Here we had winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH. Over there they had sustained winds of 40-50 MPH and gusts of 80-90 MPH with one recorded at 100 MPH. Hurricane force winds with no rain, just hot and dry. This made fighting these fires almost impossible and hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed.
Here we are in the desert and in no danger from anything like this. We are on the East side of the mountains and don't have the vegetation that is over there.

My doctors appointment with my cardiologist went well yesterday. He said that my heart valve could have caused my Near Syncope so he is going to order an echocardiogram and I am going to have to do the Holter monitor thing again but I have done these before and I seem to be doing OK now will see what the tests have to show if anything.

Just checked Amazon tracking and now package shows Out for Delivery  Arriving today 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Wonder if it will make it all the way to me this time!!

ETA: Selfishly, I am glad my son is retired. I read that fire departments from all over the state are heading to the fires. At least now he is out of harm's way!!
