Thanks Wally! It was just something I really wasn't expecting...he was 5 yrs younger than me, but was very hard on his body with drugs/alcohol so not totally unexpected.

Very sorry to hear about your loss Barbara. I'm trying to fully grasp your situation and surely you have a lot of legal paperwork in store. Hope you get things resolved smoothly and without loss of much time.

Thanks skb! I hope it goes smoothly. It is involving a lot of phone time right now as my brother lived in CA and I am in MT so not much physical help. At least my kids are pretty local to the area and can help where/if needed.

Another 122 this morning. 4° this morning, at least no new snow.

30° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 24°/8° and mostly sunny. Looks to be about the weather for the next week. Fine by me, my arthritis in my right hand is really acting up so I'm glad to not have snow to shovel!

Still kind of in a daze. My daughter got on the phone call with my niece last night and we talked over a bit more how to get things done as soon as possible. Paperwork, filings etc., we just have to go one step at a time. So far everyone is in agreement but that can change...  sigh.

I have no plans for today other than some tax organizing if I can get my mind to do it now...

104 this morning. Our high yesterday was 62° and it is supposed to be just a bit cooler today at 59° but windy. Tomorrow there is still a chance of rain mostly at night into Monday morning but I will believe it when I see it. I do hope we get something we really need it. Over on the coast they are expecting up to an inch of rain and possible thunder storms and are worried now about mud slides but they could really use rain over there also.

106 this morning. -5° going out to feed cats, 7:30AM.

Yesterday's high was 22° and sunny. today's forecast is 25°/8° mostly sunny. No snow predicted for a week and a slight warming trend.

Collecting all the garbage is about the only task planned for today. I'd like to get my tax stuff started so it isn't the last minute thing it usually is. Monday I'm going to have to see if my Edward Jones guy knows how I should best invest the proceeds from the inheritance. Just to get some ideas. I have a feeling that it going to be a long drawn out process before I see anything from it.

104 again this morning. Our high yesterday was 59° as predicted and it is supposed to be a bit cooler today at 47° and about a 70% chance of rain although so far it has only been a slight drizzle but the biggest chance is supposed to start around 10-11 Am and through tonight so maybe we will get something. Over on the coastal side of the mountains they are getting rain right now and snow in the morning and the chance of mudslides is a real danger but that is always what happens after fires.
I have almost all of my tax documents except the one from my credit onion for savings interest but that will be here soon and my filing is pretty easy so it doesn't take too long.
Getting all of my trash together today will probably be my big project for the day today.

105 this morning. Our high yesterday was 47° as predicted and it is supposed to be a warmer 56° today. We only got a drizzle and not really rain all day yesterday but overnight we actually got 1/4 inch of rain which might not sound like much but for here it is significant.
Over on the coastal side of the mountains they got quite a lot of rain and snow in the mountains and that was good news for the fires but as expected there were mud slides but not as bad as it could have been.
I said I was going to get my trash together yesterday, well that didn't happen so I have something to do today.

117 this morning.

-1° when I went out to feed the cats at 7:20AM, still waiting for this "warm up" they're talking about!! Yesterday was 20° for a high, today's forecast is 29°/7° and sunny.

Taking the garbage up to the road is all that is on the agenda for today.

The past few days I have been going through old photos and memories and in general just feeling sad and suddenly alone in a strange way. Last "man" standing of the siblings. I have to get some documents copied and ready to send where ever when identity needs to be verified. I have been enjoying getting to know my niece (my older brother's daughter) as a grown woman. Interesting thought I had this morning, family lost, but family gained too. But I am waxing a bit too sentimental I fear.

The past few days I have been going through old photos and memories

Me too. I am making short videos of my Camp Logs. Camping/Tramping was something we used to do from 1980s onwards. I don't have a good stock of the old photos but I'm using modern day pictures and videos from the net and creating a travelogue using Google Earth.

92 this morning. Our high yesterday was 57° and it should be close to the same today. I am sitting here scratching my head thinking what to do today and so far nothing comes to mind but I will give it some more time. I do have several things that I could do to finish projects that I have started and not finished so I should pick one and get it done. I am the worlds biggest procrastinator!

116 this morning. Got a late start and feels like the whole day is going to follow suit.

Yesterday's high was 21°, today's forecast is 28°/10° and sunny. -2° this morning. Now they are saying we are under an inversion again and it will be colder but no snow. Above the cloud/fog layer will be warmer.

I'm of the same mind Wally! I don't really have anything planned either. I've been doing a little of this and a little of that, clearing things out and reorganizing....probably will end up the same today.
