122 this morning.

20° was the high yesterday. Todays's forecast is 14°/-8° that from Wunderground which is often close to actual numbers. AccWeather another, very close one, has the forecast at 13°/-16°. Hoping for the first!! It was -7° when I went out to feed the cats, by the time I got back inside it was -10°, the drop was predicted to happen. Where is global warming when you really want it??? lol! At least it is not snowing and windy too!1

As I feared, the errand run did make my knee sorer by the time all was done. I expected that, so another day of rest. I did find a great new pair of boots, DryShod, waterproof insulated and yet breathable. They are high calf but the upper part of the boot can be rolled down as needed. Pricey but a really good boot and much needed! And also a new water bowl for the cats and it works! Not frozen this morning! Yay!

The arctic front will be in place the next few days so I am planning to stay put here at home and only go out as cats need attention.

102 again this morning. Our high yesterday was 63° and it is supposed to be the same today. Definitely not cold here and the chance of rain Thursday is still at 95% and they are looking at 1-2 inches on the coast. Mammoth Mountain ski resort is expecting 4 feet of snow so it should help to build up the snow pack which has been below average so far.

Yeah, old snow turns to ice and is really hard to clear. I was afraid that the rock salt on the wood wouldn't work but have never tried it. When I worked at the State Park I once stepped on a wooden step that had ice on it and my feet flew out and I landed right on my tail bone and I really hurt myself. It didn't do any permanent damage but I did learn a lesson. Ice is not forgiving.

Amen to that!! My front deck is really icy due to melt off from the roof freezing over. Fortunately my new boot have terrific treads on them. I still have to be very careful, but they are even better on the ice than the Yak Trax because the don't slide like the Yak Trax can. I cannot afford to have any kind of fall anymore!!

105 this morning. Our high yesterday was 61° and it is supposed to be 57° today with just a slight chance of rain today but the biggest chance is tomorrow and still is at 95% so I hope we do get some and on the coast it is supposed to be quite a lot. They are trying to prepare for the worse in the fire areas and there could be some big problems there.

125 this morning. Slept late so whole morning was out of sync.

-19° when I went out to feed the cats!! Only 5 showed up but as I finished and moved to the front porch water bowls more started coming out of where they were hiding.

Yesterday's high was 16° today's forecast is 14°/-11° and sunny. Today is the last of the dry/sunny days. Looks like snow, rain/snow mix and cloudy days for the next 7 days, the up side is the temps will go up into the 30's for daytime and teens and 20's for overnights. But it sounds like it will be wet snow this time around.

I had better get my resting in as much as possible now as looks like shoveling is ahead!

I hope there aren't a lot of problems with mudslides for the poor burned areas in CA. They have been through too much already.

115 thiis morning.  It is -20° outside right now (7:15AM), not looking forward to going out!

High yesterday was 11°, today's forecast is 16°/9° some sun, some clouds and maybe a bit of snow in the afternoon.  At least no snow overnight last night to have to shovel this morning!

No news on inheritance, so I guess it is just hurry up. and wait for now....

104 this morning. Our high yesterday was 61° again and so far we have only had a light sprinkle of rain but it may get stronger in a while but it is windy and that often drives the rain out of this area. In the fire burn areas it also has been light so far but they are expecting heavier rain in a while. I don't have anywhere I need to go today so I can stay home and inside. I do hope we do get some rain here so will just have to wait and see.

111 this morning.

High yesterday was 11°, today's forecast is 30°/14° cloudy with occasional snow flurries amounting to probably less than an inch. A little over 2" new snow overnight, looking out at it, it looks like light snow. I got up early today (just before 6AM) outside temp then was 10°. 30 degrees warmer than yesterday, yet still cold! Still going out at 7:15 AM, don't want to get the kitties thinking I'll be this early all the time!

I'm hoping the shoveling for today won't aggravate my knee, it has been getting better so far...

Nothing really on agenda for today, I'm sure there will be something...

101 this morning. Our high yesterday was 53° and while we didn't get a lot of rain we did get a bit over 1/8 inch and it was light and steady so it soaked in which is good. The Mammoth Mountain Ski area got 50 inches of new snow and now are over the average for this time of year so that is a good thing. No more rain is expected for the next few days and it is now supposed to warm up and get back into the 70s.

On the coast they got a lot of rain and as expected there was mud and debris flow in the burn areas and there is going to be a lot of clean up.

109 this morning. I am a bit late to the party this morning, got distracted doing something else. Our high yesterday was 61° and it is going to warm up now, maybe a lot in the next few days. The rain is out of Southern California for at least the next few days so they can dry out on the coast.
I did my laundry yesterday so nothing planned for today.

115 this morning.

It got all the way up to 31° yesterday, probably closer to 3" of new snow than 2". Shoveling was fairly easy as it was light snow.

Back to taking it easy, nothing on agenda for today.

120 this morning.

39° was high yesterday, nice day did some chipping away at ice on front deck. About 2" fresh snow this morning. Today's forecast is 32°/24° cloudy with light snow throughout the day.  More shoveling, yuk!

Gathering garbage is the only other thing on the agenda for today.
