103 this morning. Our high yesterday was 64° and it is supposed to get to 71° today! It is going to be warming up even more in the next few days and pretty warm for February. It has happened before and it may lead to a hotter Summer.

120 this morning.

41° was the high yesterday. Nice! Though there was some light snow. Only about 1" new snow overnight. Today's forecast is 35°/25° with occasional snow showers.

Only thing on agenda today is taking garbage up to the road. If I feel really motivated, I may start actually putting my tax info in order.  ......maybe.....  ~ cat ~

104 this morning. Our high yesterday was 69° so close to the prediction and it is supposed to get to 72° today. Quite a difference from where you are Barbara!   ~shvr~

I have nothing planned for today so I guess I will look around and find something to do. I have a lot of things that I should do so it won't be hard to find something.

98 this morning. Our high yesterday was 69° again and it is supposed to be the same today. and warming up a bit into the 70s the next few days, maybe into the high 70s.

I am checking in a bit early today as I have an appointment with my dermatologist this morning for a check up.

109 this morning. I am checking in way late!!  LOL! Got busy clearing snow and time got away from me.

40° was the high yesterday, with light snow on and off. Today's forecast is 33°/15° cloudy with occasional snow flurries. Supposed to have rain over the weekend, so aside from possible flooding the garage, at least a fair amount of the accumulated snow will be melted off.

I got the garbage up the driveway/road with difficulty yesterday. Amazon delivery person walked my package down my driveway as the snow was deep enough he thought his 4WD (new Amazon vans with fancy features) would shut down on him trying the driveway. I had my own problems in my own old car, which leads me to stay put until Friday's dr appt.

Since I have no need to go anywhere, I'm fine with staying put. Hopefully I can get enough rest to get my knee ready for the drive Friday.

109 this morning. Our high yesterday was 69° again today and it is supposed to get to 73° today and warming up more in the next few days.

My appointment with the dermatologist went pretty much as expected and it was a full body exam and she got the liquid nitrogen bottle out and froze about a dozen pre cancers which usually takes care of them but I did have one that needed a biopsy on my ear. I hate having anything done to my ear but it wasn't too bad. I will find out in a few days if it needs surgery.

Since the weather is so nice right now I am going to spend more time outside.

123 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 43° and a nice day. Today's forecast is 32°/26°. It was so nice to go out this morning and not have to shovel snow! Made the feed go so fast and I like that it is almost sunrise as I go out so it is light too!! Looking forward to a few nice days.

Laundry is on the schedule for today. Yesterday I got sidetracked and spent time going through a cabinet in my office and got rid of a bunch of old computer manuals, floppy discs and a bunch of old papers. I have a tub of old cables and controllers that I probably should toss too, but I'll have my friend look at them and see if she thinks they might be of any use.

Floppy discs, how would I even get info off of them???? And I also have 2 almost full containers of blank dvds! Should I toss them too??? I still have every computer I ever owned, towers, laptops, iPads etc. Should I destroy (sledge hammer) or can I just toss? I never knew what to do with them... but I am determined to clear out all this "junk" hanging around...

I haven't had aa computer that had a floppy disk drive for years and what is on them is most likely not worth anything so you can toss them. Blank DVDs aren't used anymore either so they can be tossed also. As far as the older electronics like the towers and laptops you need to make sure that the hard drives don't have your personal information on them before getting rid of them. I don't know what is available where you are but here we have a section at the county dump for electronics that takes care of getting them either recycled or however they get rid of them. Maybe your friend can help you to make sure that the hard drives are destroyed so you don't have your info left on them. That is the biggest concern with throwing out old computers and iPads.

Thanks Wally, that is what I thought about the floppies and dvds. They are going in next weeks garbage!

I will ask my friend about recycling the electronics. Many years ago, I had asked my DD what to do with an old computer (around '97) and she said "just smash it with a sledge hammer". That was way before there was so much stuff out there being upgraded and old stuff being tossed. We are really poor about having recycling centers for things even like cardboard and bottles...I haven't heard of one for electronics. Hopefully my friend or her hubby will know.

Is there a way I can damage them so nothing can be read from them? Like immersing in water or putting them out in the snow when it is freezing and below zero. Short of smashing them? LOL!  Though that might be cathartic to do! I am really on this clear out the house binge of things I've never used in years!

;D I have more than 3000 DvDs of movies, some of them Blu Rays. They are all neatly numbered and labeled and use up space in my home theater. I have been offering them for free but no takers. Some day I will have to toss them out.

110 this morning.

34° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 39°/24° and cloudy, no snow. I really should try to clear some of the old snow off the pad in front of the garage, but it is solid ice inches thick under the snow so that's a no go. We have rain and warmer temps coming and that is going to cause a fast melt, not my favorite way to get rid of the snow. But it is what is is and I'll deal somehow.

Rest is the plan today as I have a 70 mi round trip to dr to drive tomorrow.

103 this morning. Our high yesterday was 75° and it is going to be a bit cooler today but still in the 70s and it is going to be warming up more in the next few days and maybe even in the 80s. It is also going to be in the 80s in the LA area so pretty warm for this time of year. It could be a hot Summer.

The only thing you need to worry about is the hard drives in the Desktop and Laptop and if they are working you can format the hard drives but if they no longer work you need to remove them and probably the best way is to smash them. I don't know if soaking them in water would work but it may. Freezing them probably would not do it. If there is no place that takes old electronics then they will just have to go in the trash.

Yeah SKB. I had a large collection of movies on DVDs and a few years ago I did sell a few on EBAY but threw out the rest. I had a collection of vinyl albums and a few years ago I threw them out as they were not wanted by anyone as DVDs were what was the thing then and now the younger generation have gone for "retro" on everything and vinyl records are in demand now and record players are in demand. The records I threw out would bring a high price now. Who knew?

Really? I may have a gem in the garage! It is an AM/FM stereo, tape player, 8 track, record player combo with 2 speakers. It is a Sears brand. DH used to play all his records on it after we moved to the mountains and sold the old wooden piece of furniture record player. That has got to be worth something!! If it also had a disc player, I'd bring it in and use it myself but alas, no. I also have 2 miik crates full of records, mostly classical but some Musicals sound tracks, like My Fair Lady, etc.

ETA: This is very similar to the one I have:
