Quote from: walkerwally1 on April 18, 2025, 11:04:16 AMI used to have my passwords written down but since there was a data breach at the company that was handling the records for my retirement fund and our personal information was stolen I started using a password manager that keeps all of my passwords in an encrypted file that only I can access. It generates passwords for any account that I have and they are very long, 12-16 characters long and writing them down just isn't practical but they are all there any time I need to access an account. The only password I have written down is the one for the password manager. I really do believe that nowadays a password manager is essential to being secure. Apple ios has a built in password manager and it is worth using if you don't have any other.

I am about 50/50 at this point with passwords. I use Chrome browser and it generates new passwords the big long crazy ones and saves them. So all of my newer ones are these, but the older, really old ones are still written down. I am gradually updating them. Chrome also lets me know when I have too many with the same pw which I did in the olden days so I could remember them. There are a bunch of those I still need to change. Another task for another day.

As you grow older it is a boon to have someone younger around. And then, you help him out with all the tech. Good combo.

102 this morning.

52° was the high yesterday, a definite chill in the air compared to past days. Today's forecast is a little warmer with 58°/35°. The cat's outside water is still frozen in the mornings except for the heated bowl.

I did a little raking outside yesterday to uncover my day lilies in the front of the deck. Last year when my neighbor came over to mow my lawn he mowed them all down. :(  This year I want to be sure he can see them and leave them alone.

Nothing particular on the agenda for today other than the ongoing clear/sort and organize. Also probably should do a laundry. Time to put the heavy duty Winter clothes away and start bringing out more of the Spring/Summer clothes.

108 this morning. Our high yesterday was 77° and it is supposed to be 79° today and getting into the mid 80s next week. Really nice from my point of view.
I am a bit later than usual today, I got busy filling my pill box that I do every Saturday morning. I really rely on the pill box to make sure I took the pills I need each morning and evening. I have an app on my phone that also reminds me if I don't enter that I took my pills for that period but the pill box is real proof.

I am feeling better and doing a bit more each day. I did my laundry yesterday and that may not sound like much but it is a lot for me right now. I am glad I could get it done and it was a bit tiring but not too bd.

Got my meter yesterday and forgot all about testing first thing in the morning. So I checked after 2 cups of tea (with SF pills) and 2 LC cookies. The meter said 171. Allowing for a 10% variation (our meters usually are not very accurate), I'd say I got up with somewhere between 110-120. Since yesterday was strictly vegetarian and there was some ice cream (because of the grandkids) I'm OK with the number.

110 this morning.

54° was the high yesterday and mostly cloudy. Today's forecast is 57°/35° cloudy with occasional showers throughout the day and evening.

Planning to take mostly a day of rest today. Need to price some items for the crystal lady and a couple other small chores and that is about it.

104 this morning. Our high yesterday was 78° and it is supposed to be warmer at 85° today and that is where we should be for the next few days.

I started using the Contour Next One meter a few years ago and it has been quite consistent and seems to be pretty accurate. I actually have two as they had a promotion when I bought mine and I got another one free. One of the things I like is that it connects to an app on my iPhone and records my readings so I have a history on my phone. On the down side is that the test strips are on the expensive side and Medicare thinks you only need to test once a day so I purchase additional strips on line.
