Did you notice any swelling in your hands or feet/legs before it happened Wally? That might have been a clue you were beginning to fill with fluids. Sounds like your first warning was the unexplained fatigue. It would definitely be interesting to find out what causes it so you can avoid doing whatever it is, or at least know the absolute first signs, so you can jump on it right away.

CHF really triggers me as it was the first crisis that hit my late husband. Fortunately the EMTs were stationed at the firehouse just down the road from us. His lungs were 80% full of fluid when he got to the hospital. Diuretics got him back, but that was just the beginning of 2 years of agony and he!! before he died, by that point with no quality of life. In the subsequent years I have sometimes thought it would have been better to have waited a bit longer to call 911. He didn't want me to call, he must have had some premonition...

I hope you get a reasonable answer and not some medical jargon. Will wait to hear more on this.

108 this morning.

Yesterday's high was 58°, today's forecast is 65°/33°. Nice days, mornings still cold but warms up quickly.

No specific plans for today. Once I get moving around, I'm sure something will pop up that needs to be done. I know I'm going to change bedding in my bedroom. Yesterday when I was out I stopped at the local thrift shop which is closing, to see if I could find any blankets for the kitty house. Found a comforter marked down to $3 which I thought would be great. Got it home and looked at it and it is too good to not keep it for myself. Washed it and it is great! Friday and Saturday they are just giving stuff away...I think I should stay away!  ~ cat ~

85 this morning. Our high yesterday was 86° and it is supposed to be the same today then a drop of about 10° tomorrow and another 10° Saturday as a front passes through and of course windy but no rain for here.

Well, I did some research for CHF and it did answer some of the questions I had but I still will be mostly interested in what my cardiologist has to say. I was hospitalized with this about two years ago and was on diuretics and oxygen for about two months after getting out of the hospital but eventually got over the problems and have not had anything until this episode. I don't know what the outcome of this will be but it doesn't seem as bad as it was then. For now I am taking it easy and just trying to see if it will get better and it seems to be a bit better each day. Yes Barbara there was some slight swelling in my left leg, not a lot but some and nothing in my hands. I know that the edema in your legs is a sign that you are retaining water but it didn't seem big enough to worry about it but that is another thing to talk to my cardiologist about.
