Hi everyone!

My name is Abby aka redcorvette9551 and I have been Type 1 Diabetic for 17 years (diagnosed in January 2006 at the age of 7). I started out with MDI's of fast-acting and long-acting insulin, then finally got on my first insulin pump back in 2014.

I currently use the Omnipod DASH system and Dexcom G6 CGM.

Anyway, I can't wait to meet everyone and hopefully share some of my experiences from the last 17 years! :)

Hello Abby,
 ~wcm~
We did have a few T1s to begin with but over time most have stopped posting and we have lost some of them.

Good to have you on board and would love to see you posting regularly and tell us a bit more about yourself if that is OK with you.

Welcome Abby! So happy you have joined us!

As skb said we don't have any T1 diabetics right now. It would be wonderful if you felt comfortable sharing some of your experience with us. We always learned things form our former T1s and personally I miss those that we have lost.

My oldest Grand daughter is a T1 but I'm in MT and she lives in CA so we don't talk diabetes that much. She too was dx'd at age 7 and will be 25 in August, so it has been a while for her.

Please share what you are comfortable with and down in the Forum Links in the right hand column you can read some of our member's stories in the My Story link.

Hi Abby and welcome.  I am a T2 diagnosed in 1993.  Thanks to this forum and others like it I have been able to keep control of my diabetes for several years.  It would be nice to hear from you and although I am not that familiar with the problems facing a T1 we do share many of the same challenges.
