Quote from: walkerwally1 on April 28, 2024, 10:42:27 AMQuite a project Barbara but it looks like you have come a long way and it should be finished soon.  You have a lot more energy than I do.

Thanks! As far as energy, I am soooo exhausted and achey all the time. This has really worn me to the bone, but it had to be done. First to sequester the fixed cats while the others are caught and to give all of them better shelter in the Winters here.

The trapping is a lot of work too, but it won't last a long time. Then we can do the fine tuning on the garage at a slower pace.

Quote from: walkerwally1 on April 28, 2024, 10:49:40 AMbut I have also seen others that have used the third party sponge for your model and it worked so not sure.  The guy in the first link I posted may have some more info but then maybe he is just trying to sell his cleaning kit.

This is true, I didn't read much further in his comment to see if he was hawking his own product. Just freaked me out! I'll run the tests again today and decide if I should do the power wash. All my tanks are almost full except for black which is a bit lower. One wash can't do that much to the sponges.

Yeah it may not be too bad to run one power cleaning but it may not be necessary.  Epson says it should be a last resort and printing a purge sheet, maybe several times will usually do the same thing without putting ink into the sponge.  The videos on YouTube are posted mostly by people that do sublimation printing for printing on fabric like T-shirts and it usus special sublimation ink that apparently has more of a tendency to clog.  Here is another video from a gal that says she has never run a power cleaning but usen printing purge sheets and the advantage is that you can run them using only the color that is a problem and the ink goes on the paper and not in the waste sponge.  I think it is really worth a try.

Back to base.
It was sweltering hot in Central India, though that does cause thunderstorms in the evening.
We got the building set out and excavation started. Now I will revisit at plinth stage by May 20th or so.
Nothing to show yet, but Barbara did ask for pictures, so here's one that might explain the situation as of now.

This is the wall where the Chewy box houses are, just a part showed in the photo 2nd form  last above. Haven't removed all the work stuff yet.

View from back window. The coolers all have their openings facing the inner space. This give the kitties a "safe" feeling space to hide and even go into a cooler if wanted.

View of carpet, it is pretty nice has some kinks needing to be eased out but over time  it will completely flatten out.

Good setup. I think the cats will settle down quite nicely here.

Awesome, it is fascinating to watch a build from start to finish. I expect some things there are done differently than here. Plus it is a concrete house and that is something special to see actually go up. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more photos!

That is natural. Local materials are always preferred. Procuring boulders was a big issue there as the plot is only 450 meters from the core of a protected Tiger reserve. So we're using stone from the local rivers and from someone who is digging a well.

This is how we are going to go about it.

Wow! I guess I don't quite understand how 3-D printers work. They can use any material, metal dust(?), in the printing process? Somehow I had it in my mind it was basically forms of plastic only. I am definitely not up on all these amazing tech advancements!!

I don't think they use metals. Only composite materials to the best of my knowledge.

I guess I misunderstood this part of the article:

"The Laser Powder Bed Fusion technique employed in the manufacturing process .....
streamlined design not only significantly reduced raw usage per engine from 565kg to a mere 13.7kg of metal powder..." Maybe I should not even try to understand, this is obviously over my head...

Geesh it was hard to quote from that article!
