Chit Chat - What's on your mind today?

I wear a lot of vests mainly for the pockets. Many of women's pants don't have pockets useable for something the size of a phone (a pet peeve of mine for a long time!). The vests are mostly long and the pockets are about the same place a pants pocket would be.

Plus I recently discovered the inside pockets on my vests. I can put my small wallet in one and phone in the other, keys and sanitizer in outside pocket and tissue in the other and I don't even need to carry a purse any more!

Since this is Chit-Chat and since we started this thread with dreams.

I have had a very irregular and disturbed sleep pattern for decades now. I'm also a very light sleeper and a small movement, sound or light can wake me up. Because of this I tend to remember what I was "dreaming" of at the time. However. I like to think of this as what the brain was thinking of at that time. In 9 cases out of 10, I can tell you that I was thinking of (dreaming) very recent and relevant things that are happening in our life. Therefore I think this whole idea of 'dream interpretation' is far fetched and prone to wild imaginations of therapists and other 'experts'.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I'm having trouble posting links sigh.

Saw this on the other forum I read. I really didn't know who this singer, Robbie Robertson, was but the link to a song he was known for is awesome! I have always liked that song. The way it is done with so many different artists ,they are playing for a cause, Playing for Change, don't know anything about it.

It may not be everyone's style in music but it is beautiful!  RIP Robbie Robertson!

ETA: FYI (nick name for Francis it gets censored) is a person,  (I always thought the were saying Annie!) it was not the derogatory use of the word which is really not nice. According to Wikipedia:

The original members of the Band performed "The Weight" as an American Southern folk song with country music (vocals, guitars and drums) and gospel music (piano and organ) elements. The lyrics, written in the first person, are about a traveler's arrival, visit, and departure from a town called Nazareth, in which the traveler's friend, Fxxxy, has asked him to look up some of her friends.

According to Robertson, *Fxxxy is based on Frances "Fxxxy" Steloff, the founder of a New York City bookstore where he explored scripts by Buñuel.[18] The town is related to Nazareth, Pennsylvania, because it was the home of Martin Guitars. (Robertson wrote the guitar parts on a 1951 Martin D-28).[17][18] The singers, led by Helm, vocalize the traveler's encounters with people in the town from the perspective of a Bible Belt American Southerner,[19] like Helm himself, a native of rural Arkansas.

Darn censor! Her name rhymes with Annie...

I didn't recognize him by name but I do have fond memories of the group "The Band" and I do remember  "The Night They Drove Ol' Dixie Down" and "Up On Cripple Creek," which he wrote.  He was the co-founder and lead guitarist of The Band

I read all that too but didn't want to go too far with info... "The Night They Drove Ol' Dixie Down" was also a fav of mine!

Everyday I scour through some research on varied subjects but mostly related to health.
Today, I came across an article that talks about the possibility of humans eating 3D printed food in the future. It talks specifically about vegan seafood, but I think that could ultimately extend into other varieties as well.
Since Wally has a 3D printer and a keen interest in the subject, I'm sharing the link here.

Umm, my first response is YUK! But who knows what further testing will produce? Hopefully this won't hit the market for a long time. I suppose vegetarians would like this idea if it was palatable. And I realize the ocean is a finite source of seafood, but I don't think I could eat 3D made food.

Well, it is not the type of 3D printing that I am used to and I don't think melting plastic has a nutritional value it does use the same methodology that my 3D printer uses so I guess you can compare them.  It is pretty interesting and yeah you may feel that it is yucky but really it is an attempt to take what is available and make it into something that we will not look at as yucky.  The method is trying to use the medium to produce an item that looks like and tastes like the real thing.  This is going to be the kind of research needed to feed the world population in the future.  There are people using 3D printers right now that make food like candy but they use existing product like pushing frosting through a tube.

Well, I do have to admit, it is interesting. It just doesn't seem like "real" food to me. Yes, it appears natural foods are used in the production, and yes something is needed for the future to feed people. I shudder for a world that this type of manufactured food will be most of what is available and the norm.

Kind of makes me think of Star Trek and the Replicator "Replicator, a cup of coffee with HWC, please."   LOL  ~ cat ~

As my mind tends to sometimes wander off and think of different things I was wondering  ???  since we are warned about the evils of processed meats, and I am not disputing that, does the "beyond meat" products that are plant based count as processed food?  I mean it is processed but what effect does it have on the body?  How much processing is harmful and to what extent.  My thinking is that just because it is plant based does not necessarily make it healthy.  I am not aware of how much, if any, research has been done on these products.

Well, in a way it is "real" food in that it is derived from real animals but it is being made into something that more closely resembles what we are used to as "real" to make it palatable.  In a lot of ways this and the 3D printers do mimic the Star Trek Replicator.  One thing for sure is that the world does change.
