It is weird that Epson does not have the same control center for the Mac as it does for Windows. I can do all of the maintenance from my Desktop if I want to.

Yeah, it just makes no sense!!  I go to Apps and type in Epson Control center and nothing comes up. Then I type in Epson 2400 app again nothing comes up on my mac. The link you sent is for ios but only iphone or ipad.  So even with the cable, I have no where to go on my mac to do the maintenance!

I'm remembering how much trouble I had setting up this printer in the beginning and now the clogged nozzles and trying to fix them....I wonder if this particular machine is just a lemon???  The whole thing is giving me a headache.

I am seriously beginning to think I am just going to get a new cannon printer and give this one to my friend whose husband loves to tinker with this kind of thing and see if it will work for him...

Barbara, I meant to post this earlier but forgot. I have an iPhone SE 2nd gen. that I have had sitting around for a long time and I was planning to sell it on ebay but when I looked it is not going for enough to make it worthwhile so I decided to donate it but if you have a family member that could use it you can have it at no cost. It would be a really great first phone for a youngster. It is in great condition and I have it upgraded to ios 18.2 and the battery is at 95% health. It is product red and with the original box with all of the original items which includes the charger, cable and even wired ear pods. Just a thought but if you know someone that could use it you can have it.

Thanks for thinking of me Wally, but my grands all have their own phones and the 3 grown ones are covering their own service too.  The littles have phone too. Given DD's job, she wants to be able to get to them immediately in an emergency. And here in MT I don't know anyone with littles.  I'm sure you can find a  great cause to donate it to there!

That's cool, I just though to give you a chance if you did have anyone that could use it. We have an organization that is a non profit that provides services for children here that are in need and that is where I will give it to.

Well, I finally took the time to try to do the Power Clean on the Epson. After I plugged the cable in from printer to laptop, and after several steps, many of which I have already forgotten. (But I printed out!) I found the Printer Utility. My guess earlier was right, they had to be connected to get the utility. Anyway I ran the Power Clean and it is working fine now.

But my black ink is really low even though the other 3 are at least 3/4 full. Thus the order of ink. I ordered an off brand, Epson brand was $62!! Which is almost twice the price of the Cannon printer I have coming Wednesday!! I am thinking I am just going to keep the Cannon as a back up for the day the Epson goes to printer heaven.

Wow, I don't remember what I paid for a 4 bottle of Epson ink replacement bottles but it was less that that at the time although it was a year ago. I still am on the original ink and have not opened the replacement ink yet so it has lasted a long time. I bought the replacement kit to have it on hand when I first set up the printer and expected to need it sooner. I don't think there is anything wrong with the third party ink and it should be just fine. The way Epson and other companies try to make it hard to use third party ink cartridges is to put a chip in the cartridge that recognized real or other cartridges and sometimes the third party cartridges work and sometimes they don't. With the tank printer there is no chip so it is just ink and there is no way Epson knows if it is genuine or not so any ink is just fine.

Remember the saying "Use it, or lose it". So, do print once in a while.

Yeah, I thing that one of the things with these ink tank printers is that they need to be used to keep the ink from clogging in the tubes or nozzles. I don't have a problem as I print almost every day something. I am a print junkie!

Yeah, I am going to have to print something every day or maybe if I don't, do a purge page once a week. I need to find a new one that doesn't use as much ink. The one I use right now has 4 vertical columns 1.5" wide the full length of the 11" page.I'd like to find one that is half that length.

I don't think you have to print every day to keep the printer from clogging but maybe 3-4 times a week. I don't print every day but I do print several days a week and some times it is several sheets on both sides. The size of the tanks should not have any effect on how much ink the printer uses.

Well, I guess it depends on where else you could sell them and what you could get for them. There are other outlets like Ebay or Facebook market place that may be worth looking into.

True that, and she did ask me earlier if I didn't want to go back on ebay which I thought was odd at the time, but now I think she was feeling me out for her question. I'm just not really interested in getting back into online selling, too many hassles and rules now that I don't have the patience to deal with any more.

There are other crystal dealers around here I maybe could sell to, but on her very first day here she asked if I would sell exclusively to her and I did say yes. So I do feel kind of bound by that.....  I think I'll decide on what I am willing to take and if she says no, that will release me from that promise and I'll look around some at the other crystal stores.

That would be the key question. When you say reduced prices do you mean you are selling at a loss or 'reduced' profit from what you may have earlier thought.

So far it has been at a big loss to me and at first I was OK with that. But as we got into the higher dollar costs to me she still expected pennies on the dollar. What remains is a lot of the pricey things and I am feeling uncomfortable just "giving" them away. She has made a few comments that she was worried I was going to up the prices since she was buying a lot.... she wants to be able to sell them cheap, but they aren't cheap specimens. I'll figure out a price and if she balks too much then that will be that.

She already acts like they are hers, she calls and asks "Do we have any topaz?" for example.There is no "we" here. sigh...sorry to vent here, I just need a sounding board and there isn't anyone else neutral to talk about it to.
