This place has been keeping me busy. So after many days, I managed to do my one hour routine.

Walk / Run for a mile on the treadmill for warm up, followed by gyming, weights and some free exercises.
No meds since June 2011

I so long for the days I could do vigorous exercise!!  Since I have serious problems with my lower back and have a spinal fusion in my neck, those days are just a sweet memory.  Yesterday I had 45 minutes of vigorous Physical Therapy that left me exhausted as usual but I seeing some improvements in balance as a result.

Yesterday morning was rather warm, but a bit windy so I got in a 4 mile walk before work, 1-1/2 miles walked at lunch and after work I rode 10 miles on the bike.
I've changed things around so that I only use the weight machines Mon, Wed and Fri, I think it's better to give the muscles a rest between all the heavy lifting. We'll see how that works out.

Barb, 45 minutes of PT IS vigorous exercise! I remember when I was in PT, after 45 minutes I came out of there some days just wanting to cry. Truth be told, sometimes I did.

yesterday was 4 miles walked before work, 2 miles at lunch and 2-1/2 hours at the gym on the weight machines. Still can't get past that 4 mile barrier, maybe next month  8)

45 minutes of hard PT.  She upped reps and upped the resistance on the reclining bike, knees are screaming at me!!

No walking yesterday, the wind was too brutal. Did work out on the weight machines for 2 hours after work and biked for 6 miles.

45 min or really hard PT.  Last week she upped several exercises, today she upped the rest! Man am I sore!  She is going on vacation for two weeks so I get a rest, but she gave me bands and I have weights and an elliptical, so she said 4x a week she wants me to go through the routines.   :(

So not fair, she gets to go on vacation but you don't?  >:(

Yesterday morning was 27 degrees so 3 miles walked on the indoor gym track, 2 more miles walked at lunch (lunch needs to be an hour instead of 30 minutes) then after work, 2-1/2 hours on the weights and 6 miles on the bike :)

4 miles walked before work, 2 more at lunch time. After work walked another 2 miles then 2 hours on the weights and 6 miles on the bike. 8 miles total, still looking forward to the day when I can actually do it all at one time again.

I haven't mentioned it, but since coming back home I am doing 20 min. on my recumbent bake which uses both my arms and legs for 20 min.  daily as well as bands on my legs and arms and that is what the therapist thought I should do at first.  I hope to up the resistance as I go along.  I can go out there for 30 days of more therapy paid for by Medicare if I wish and I may do that in a week or two.  The wound on my foot isn't quite well yet.  Just getting back in my groove and walking more is enough at the moment!

Did my 1 hour routine after a month (almost). Walk / jog / run on the treadmill for warm up, followed by gymming, weights & free exercises. Could manage about 90% difficulty levels, but that's fine, as long as it's done routinely.

Back to PT today, 45 grueling minutes!  I was not very compliant while she was on vacation and paid the price today.

With me, it's been the other way. Non compliant while i was on vacation and that non compliance stretched a little even upon return. But I've started all over again. The nuts & bolts are creaking a bit, but I'll get there.
