I've felt under the weather too, but I've come up with a rather bizarre notion that it might be allergy-related! I have prodigious post-nasal drip & I'm beginning to wonder if all that cruddy drainage could cause stomach upset. There's just no appetite for even some of my favorite things. This week has been one of the worst, and guess what's 'blooming'? Ragweed!  >:(

Quite correct Shanny. It is all protein and does contain a fair amount of bacteria. Once in the stomach, it causes a flush of pepsin to digest the protein. Some of that extra pepsin causes a part of the stomach lining to also crumble, thereby giving rise to stomach upset, gurgling in the stomach & things like that.

Thank you for that confirmation, Shyam! It's a rare day that I don't have any appetite, but I sure haven't felt like eating this week. I made my everlovin' a hot beef sandwich (shredded roast beef on bread with mashed potatoes & gravy) for supper tonight, and normally I'd want a bite or two of it, since it was an all-time favorite before diabetes, but I wasn't even tempted by that.

7045 steps yesterday.  A bit less than the 9K the day before but I felt good although a little tired from the day before.  I do feel like I am making some progress.
We have such a variety of brush here that something is almost always in bloom all year long.  I do wake up with a stuffy head lately but one Benadryl in the morning seems to take care of it for the rest of the day.

I was tested when we lived in Colorado, and went on desensitization shots too, but there was no dramatic improvement. Then we moved to Missouri & it was such a different environment. I never got tested again after we moved here, but there are certainly plenty of my previously know allergens growing wild, and certainly plenty of new stuff that would never be found in Colorado's arid climate.

7,507 Steps yesterday.

Thanks for that explanation skb!  I am suffering from allergies too and that may explain some of my misery!

That explains why a cold and stomach upsets go hand in hand. And I have not gone to the gym this entire week. I better find the time or I will ache all over once again.

This makes a lot of sense and is a better explanation than I got from my doctor.  Thank you for posting.

7760 steps yesterday.  Not bad, third day over 7K but I am not so sure about today.  My knee is acting up this morning so it may not be a very good day.

Is the weather changing where you live?  Maybe your knee is 'complaining' about the weather??  Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Thanks Kathy.  No, the weather here has been very consistent.  My knees don't seem to be affected by the weather but I believe I am the cause.  I am trying to wean myself off of using the knee brace or the cane and Wednesday I did not use the knee brace all day.  Yesterday after walking for a bit my knee stopped giving me any problem.  I managed 6787 steps for the day so not too bad.  My goal is to finally be able to get rid of the knee brace and cane and be able to walk as much as I did before the accident.  May not happen but I am going to try.

I would be delighted with 5,000+ steps if I could do that many.  My lymphedema is acting up with all the heat and humidity we're having.  Glad you're feeling some better Barb.

6573 steps yesterday.  I have managed to stay above 6K steps for the week so far so not too bad.  I'm trying to maintain good posture while walking and doing a decent job I think.  I keep thinking of the pictures of an old man bent over his cane that are so common and it makes me stand taller.   `8)
It does help and makes it easier on my knees also.
Kathy, I think that it just matters that you do what is within your ability.  I set step count as a goal but my main effort is to move every hour during the day, at least some.  That, I think, is worth the effort.
