I think I did a bit too much Saturday and yesterday I had to keep off my knee most of the day.  It looks like I will be taking it easy for a while.

I'm going for the Wahiba cross, a desert drive / camp in Oman from the 25th to 27th January. I won't be driving on the dunes but just enjoying the ride. Even so, I need to be fit & ready to be take the gruelling 2 days. I'm going to have to start upping the difficulty level in my workouts to be ready in time.

That's exciting skb. I've done many excursions in the desert while I was in SA. Have been badly stuck a couple of times. But it's a thrilling experience. I am sure you will have a great time. Night's are chilly, so be prepared for it.

I managed 27 floors yesterday and then the gym.

Just a quick question to those of you whose activity level is much more intense than mine.  Do you find you sleep better after a day that includes your normal exercise/movement levels?  I am having sleep issues so hence the reason for the question.

For a few years I used to go with friends to the Glamis Sand Dunes in the southern end of California inland from San Diego.  It was a lot of fun driving across the dunes in "Dune Buggys", Sand Rails and ATV cars and motorcycles.  Getting a bit too old for that now.
Grammabear, I do think that some exercise helps with sleeping.  I try to do as much as I can each day and even if it isn't a lot it does seem to help.  I don't exercise hard but just moving seems to help.

DH says he sleeps better if he can get some physical exercise during the day, but he rarely gets it. Moving firewood is about the size of it, so if the stack on the porch needs replenishing, those are the days of somewhat more activity.

My difficulty getting to sleep is due to allergic rhinitis because when I lie down, my nose/sinuses respond with more intense drainage. I'm still thankful that it's drainage & not congestion, but until I can finally fall asleep, it's a real PIA. Plus I need a cold room, and it's only now that overnight temperatures are falling to freezing levels (our bedrooms aren't heated, so while DH needs an electric blanket to be comfortable - I delight in the cold room!).

9,728 steps yesterday. Yep,  ~ cat ~in lap a lot!

I do sleep well when I get a lot of steps in. I hit the bed and am out almost immediately. Of course it is generally 2 or 3 AM that I hit the bed.

Technically, exercise should & does induce sleep. I exercise early morning so I'm not able to reap the sleep benefits as it's more than 12 hours gap between the two. After the exercise routine in the morning, I do feel sleepy, but never dozed off to encash it. There is one exercise, that makes me feel particularly sleepy, and maybe you could give it a try. Hold your chin pressed down to your chest and then rotate it and your neck around your shoulders for 10 counts, clockwise and anti clockwise. Might help.

I have been gyming for a year now, but I've always been a sound sleeper so I can't really say if exercise helped or not. I haven't noticed any change like extra sleeping hours.

22 floors and then gym for yesterday.

9,729 steps yesterday. It has been really cold here and Boo is snuggling a lot more than usual.  ~ cat ~ in lap slowed me down some.

I had my second injection yesterday, easy peasy.  I'm still going to take it easy.  I was told to be patient so I will.
