Yeah Wally, I do what I can, and that is just fine with me...

4462 steps yesterday.  I don't know why but my back started hurting and really gave me a bad time.  I never had it this bad but it kept me down most of the day.  Still hurts this morning so I will be taking it easy today.

I'm beginning to wonder if chasing that 10,000 steps a day is not such a good idea at my age and body problems.

7682 steps yesterday.  My back was better and walking did not seem to bother it.  Sitting seems to be the hardest thing on my back.  When I hit 7K I decided that was enough and I didn't want to push it.
Yeah Barbara, the 10,000 steps a day is an arbitrary number anyway and I agree that trying to use it as a goal can actually cause problems.  I do try to get up and moving every hour and get at least 300 steps and I think that helps.  Sitting for long periods seems to be the worst thing for our health.

6536 steps yesterday.  I'm not sure what is going on with my back.  I have never really had any back problems but it is sure bothering me now.  I did good yesterday until the afternoon and then it kicked in and I had to back off walking.  It is still sore this morning but not near as bad.  I think I am going to sort of take it easy for a bit.

I haven't had back trouble either, but I sure remember my dad did. It was never diagnosed either . . . but every few months he'd have to go on crutches, and I remember one really bad time when he couldn't even get out of bed. I came home from school to find him kneeling at the side of the bed, unable to get up, and unable to get back in bed either. Mom was at work  & I sure as heck couldn't help him.  :(

Power went out about 20 min ago so will be brief. Not a lot of battery life left.

10,306 steps yesterday.  I was surprised to get to 10K.  I didn't really keep track but just made a walk of some kind each hour and my back was obviously better.  I was out earlier walking and my back is even better.  Thanks for that.  I was just thinking this morning that I am lucky that I am walking now without any support.  No cane and no knee brace.  Considering where I was a few months ago that is quite a good thing.

Temp in high 80's. Too hot for me. Part of the problem is with the trees gone, the house heats up a lot more than it used to...

7349 steps yesterday.  I was just commenting yesterday about how I have had no problems with my knees and I guess my right knee was listening because in the afternoon it started to give me a bad time.  A bit sore this morning but it seemed to work out after I walked a bit.  I hope it is not going to be a problem but then I am OK to have injections again.

4,824 steps yesterday. May be more today as I had to go to the Post Office and a quick grocery run.

I need to figure out some way to abate the heat.

My yard is a jungle and the tree stump grinder is not responding to my calls. The tree jungle out back may provide some shade, but I worry about my foundation and the roots...

It stayed down to 86° today, so that was a relief! We should've gone to town, but we're spoiled getting to stay home so much of the time.

I wish there were someone I could think of for you to report that stump person. They're giving the whole lawn care group a bad name.

I'm sure you've seen my cover picture . . . we aren't short on shade over here, and these are big old mature oak trees. But the picture was taken early in spring, so they aren't fully leafed out. If they were, you'd never be able to see through all the branches at all.
