5446 steps yesterday.  I kind of took it easy and didn't do a lot.  I did make my 300+ steps each hour but I didn't do much more than that.  I was glad that my knee didn't give me any problem though.
At our old house in the mountains there were a lot of trees and it was a big help keeping it cooler.  Here not so much.  There is a tree in the back yard but it does not give any shade to the house.  The cooler keeps it nice inside the house though.  The biggest problem is when we get high humidity, usually if there is a hurricane or tropical storm in Mexico and the remnants come up here.

5,754 steps yesterday. Shopping helped that number.

I'm learning to readjust my open/closed window, curtain open/closed routine to keep the heat at a bay somewhat better.  I can't say how disappointed I am with the lawn person and the stump person just not showing up... I just can't do any of the big yard work any more and don't really know what to do.

4905 steps yesterday.  Really took most of the day off.  Well, it was Sunday and I took a day of rest !  I was out earlier doing a bit of walking and doing OK today.

Barbara, do what you can to try and stay cool.  Here it takes a cooler for the house, starting the day at 84° heading to 109° here.
Hope you find someone to do your yard work.  It is really too much to take on alone.

I have a wall mount AC in the office but it scares the "carp" out of my cat, so I don't use it much. I knew it was going to be warmer with the trees gone, I just have to adjust.  At the rate the stumps are blooming, I'll have shade next year if the guy never shows up. My foundation may be in trouble though...

8167 steps yesterday.  I was pretty busy trying to get a desktop computer ready to sell.  I'm trying to do a reset of Windows 10 so I can get rid of any personal data but it is a typical Windows mess and so far has not worked.  Any way after I hit 7k I kind of didn't try to go much higher but I did feel OK and that is good.

4,095 steps yesterday. It seems so low given my previous numbers, but my back and knee are doing fine so I go with what I can do.

Yesterday I turned on the AC while Boo was sleeping in the other end of the house (south end) in what I now call the sunshine room (formerly the the "library") he really likes it there. I can run the AC which is on the other side of the house (north end, my office) and he doesn't hear it. It is helping a lot to cool down the area where I am so much. Once he comes out...all bets are off.

9102 steps yesterday.  Not too bad, I spent most of the morning working with the computer and finally got it set up with a fresh install of Windows 10 and got rid of all of my personal info so I can sell it.  That took a good part of my morning up.  It's going to be hot and kind of muggy today so not the best for walking but we will see.

When I had my dog, a little 5 lb Chichuahua, we would put a blanket on one of our chairs for her to burrow under when the a/c was running.  I think she actually liked her little "house" on the chair as she spent a lot of time there, sometimes with just her head sticking out.

10,261 steps yesterday.  Running errands and shopping added a lot of steps.  I had over 2000 steps in one hour and for me that is a lot.
Our cooler is a big unit on the roof and ducted to each room.  It is kind of loud when it is on high but the dogs love it and will lie directly under a vent.

It seems that the sound of the AC is what scares Boo. As long as he is in the back part of the house, it is OK. So I will play it that way...

We replaced our old a/c unit last year, and I was amazed at how quiet the new one is. If that's Boo's problem, I totally understand!

8205 steps yesterday.  I think I was a little sore form the day before but I am OK with that.  Any time I am at 7K or better I think it is good.
A "swamp cooler" like we use depends on moving a lot of air to work.  It does not recirculate the air inside the house like a refrigeration unit but it is a one pass and out it goes so there has to be a way for the air to get out.  There needs to be a window or a door open or in out case we have "Upducts" that let it go into the attic and out.  When it is 110° outside it will only get down to about 80° inside with the cooler on high.  Not perfect but better than nothing.

3,202 steps yesterday. Don't know if I will ever get back to 7K steps...maybe when the temps cool down again it might happen. The upside is my back and knee are fine...
