I'm in favor of keeping your back & knees happy!  ;)

6681 steps yesterday.  I was just tired yesterday and I am not sure why.  I got a good nights sleep but was really dragging my caboose.  Maybe I needed to take a break.  Sometimes a lax day is rejuvenating.
Barbara, it was not too long ago that I really doubted that I would ever make 10k again but I have since, although not every day.  I think the main thing is to move when you can and don't worry about step count.

3,908 steps yesterday. Today was errand day so will be higher.

Yeah Wally, I do get up several times each hour and walk as much as is comfortable. The pain and agony I went through this Spring is definitely keeping me from pushing just for # of steps.

7241 steps yesterday.  Just glad to make it to 7K and then I sort of quit.

6,193 steps yesterday. Shopping really added to the step count, but I am finding I am so exhausted after each trip.

3761 steps yesterday.  I decided to take the day off and didn't even check my steps all day.  I totally ignored my Fitbit buzzing away for me to get my steps each hour.  I think it is a good thing once in a while to take a break.

I agree totally that it's good to take a break, but I'd have buried that buzzing device deep in my sock drawer or some other faraway place for the duration.  ;)  Isn't there some way to turn it off?!  `8)

walkerwally1

I gave the wrong impression when I said buzzing.  The Fitbit fits on my wrist like a watch and it is really a vibration.  Not annoying or intruding and easy to ignore.  It is just there to remind you to get steps in each hour and normally I do listen to it.  Since I decided on a day of rest I just ignored it.  If it was that annoying I could turn it off.

3,534 steps yesterday.

Nowadays, I do what I can do and don't worry about the #.

7259 steps yesterday.  I can walk outside in the early morning but the rest of the day it is inside.  Our mail box is across the street so getting the mail in the afternoon is a challenge.

It is still hot here, for me, probably not for a lot of you... It wears me down.

Still no response from the stump removal guy or any luck finding a yard service. #Iliveinajungle  :)

7432 steps yesterday.  I'm not even thinking of trying to do much over 7K right now.  The trip to the mailbox yesterday at 110° was not fun and I think about the poor delivery person in the delivery vehicle without any air conditioning !

That really sticks in my head - the delivery vehicles without a/c. Rural carriers out here use their own vehicles & I suppose receive a stipend for doing so.

The rural delivery people here also sometimes use their own vehicles but no stipend.  :(

When I lived up on the mountain the mail was delivered by contract employees.  They also used their own vehicles but they were not employed by the Postal Service.  Here in town the mail is delivered by Post office employees in government vehicles.  I was at Walmart today and I was looking at the workers collecting carts in the parking lot where it was blistering but then I remembered that before I retired 8 years ago I was working outside on days just like this.  It depends on what you are used to I guess.
