Geeze Barb, what a bummer.  Hope it gets better quickly and, no, steps aren't important when you need to heal.
Going to go and get Cortisone injections in both knees today.  Last time has been 6 months so not bad and I am not waiting like last time because it took about a month to improve.
I think my Fitbit may be dropping steps.  It seems to freeze at times and show no steps while I am walking.  I have an older pedometer that I am going to use along with it to compare.

Thanks for the well wishes.  9211 steps yesterday.  I was surprised I did that much.  Thank you Aleve!  My hip is still stiff today.  I actually think the gentle walking has helped loosen it up.

9211 steps with a sore hip is fantastic. Argus tells me that I walked some 5789 steps yesterday. That's for the times that I had the phone on me. Out of this 3 km (around 4080 steps) was a measured evening walk. Some of my walks are vertical, when I have to climb & get down several floors at a construction site.

Reading everyone's posts, I feel I'm not doing enough by walking once every few days. I have decided to join the zoomba class. I start on the 1st of next month.  :D

7818 steps yesterday.  Taking it a bit easy as hip was sore last night.

Ran errands early this afternoon and hip was not happy.  Cat is on my lap and I think it will be a light step day today.

I had a good day yesterday, 12,996 steps, and thank the Cortisone as I didn't have anywhere near the problem with my knees.  Fitbit has come up with another three "adventures" this time along the New York Marathon route.  First one is only 8500 steps so can be done in one day but the other two are longer, the third one is over 50,000 steps.  Since I have never been to New York it will be fun to see the sights.  I probably will start next week but I have another Mohs surgery Monday so probably will wait until Tuesday.

9398 steps yesterday.  Still a bit stiff but getting better each day.

Wow, Wally that's a lot of steps!! What are the other two "adventures"? So do you walk with a tablet in your hand or use your phone to see the sights?

Well Barb, it is kind of a lot of steps but if I am feeling good I can do that or more, my highest for one day is 20,000 steps but the knees have to cooperate.  Right now the cortisone injections have helped a lot.   :D
The NYC Fitbit challenges are three along the NYC Marathon route.  First is a 5k at 8000 steps.  Second is a partial marathon from 1st Ave. to the finish at 24,000 steps and the third is the full 26.2 mile Marathon at 57,000 steps.  There are points along the way where they have a panorama photo to give you a view of that point.  I take my phone along but it is better viewed on my tablet after I get back inside.  They break the challenge into daily segments according to your past history so for me it is broken into 10K steps per day.
