Barb - Did you get your phone and data transferred over?  I have a 5S iphone and had to transfer data.  I ended up calling Apple and they told me that I needed to do a backup to the icloud and then transfer from the icloud to my new phone.

I would be interested in knowing how you like the 7 as I am running out of storage on my 5s.  I don't like the huge phones, but still need to stick with the iphone system.

They told me I'd get my phone on Tuesday, but now it says it won't even ship until the 22nd. Once I get it, I am going up to town to the AT&T store and have them transfer everything. At this point everything is backed up to the cloud so it shouldn't be a huge process. I'm not even going to try to do it myself...I am not techie enough to know if I am messing up!!

Configuring a new iPhone is quite an easy process, however it would depend on the iOS version you use. I think the latest 12.1 does an automatic iCloud backup. If you're going to outsource the process, be aware, that it may take a few hours depending on Internet speeds.

When I talked to the man at the AT&T store he said since I only had 2.2G of backup in the cloud, to transfer to the new phone would only take 20-30 minutes to do. Whether he knew what he was talking about or not, I don't know... I do know trying to do it myself scares me a little since I am not techie at all...

Barbara, you will be fine having someone else do this chore for you.  I am not techie either and I did it over the phone with Apple technical support.  If I had been given a choice, I would have taken it somewhere and let someone else do it.  I am interested to know if you like the iphone 7 - when you have time.

7952 steps yesterday.  Probably could have done more but I'm OK with that.
I went from the iPhone 5S to the iPhone SE and to the iPhone 7.  I got the 7 form the local Verizon store and they did the transfer for me but it really isn't hard.  It didn't take very long but I probably didn't have a lot on the phone at that time.  I do like the 7 but I probably should have gotten the 8 because it had just come out and was only $50 more.  Just because it was newer but the 7 does everything I want to do and more.

Wally is the 8 the same size as the 7? I tried to stay as close to the same size as the 5SE. Not that I would be getting an 8 now!! I am excited about getting the 7 and getting it up and running. I can restore some of my apps on it.

Well, $hit just keeps happening..... My laptop has apparently died. I came back into the room and it was black screen making a high pitch noise. Shut it down for a while then opened it up again. It worked about 10 min then the screen went pink/pixel flashing then it went black again with the noise. No idea what is going on!!

If it isn't one thing it is another...  :(

Barbara, I think the 8 and the 7 are the same size, or close, but if you already have the 7 coming like you said, no reason to change now.  I am happy with the 7 and it does everything I could want it to do.  When you switch phones all of your apps will transfer to your new phone.  The only difference you will notice is that some may work a bit better.
Bummer about your laptop.  I don't know where to start to try and trouble shoot that.

I did a little googling my pink screen and it is known as "the pink screen of death". I couldn't understand all the suggestions for trying to fix it... There is a local gal, Bev the Geek, that does repairs. I will call her on Tuesday. May be looking at a new laptop in my future.  :(

Thank goodness for my iPad. Only a couple of things I can't do here...

Barb - While none of us really want to purchase a new laptop, this time of year might be a good time to do so.  Maybe you can find a place that is having an early black friday sale?  Around here, those kind of sales are starting already, and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet.

4953 steps yesterday.  I was doing good until around noon and then I decided to take the rest of the day off.  No other reason than just that I could and it felt good.   :D
A couple of years ago my old laptop was not broken but really outdated and I found a really good deal on a Lenovo laptop with everything I wanted so I got it and sold the old one on Ebay.  It does pay to shop and with Black Friday coming it could be a good time.

5,090 steps yesterday.  ~ cat ~ in lap, plus left knee was a little wonky so took it easy.

Yeah, if I have to replace my laptop, which pretty sure that is a given, this is the best time of year to do it...

6880 steps yesterday.  I should have made it to at least 7K but I got busy and didn't get there.  I think I am not nearly as dedicated as I used to be.  I do try to get the steps in each hour and do pretty well at that.  Fitbit wants 250 steps/hour and the Stepz app looks for 300.  I just set myself a goal of 500 steps/hour over a 12 hour period but that only comes to 6K steps/day.
