I know the idea of this thread is not to compare ourselves to each other, but sometimes I wonder why I don't seem to be able to accomplish what others are doing?  However I have increased my steps over what I was doing a year ago this time.  So, basically isn't having 'movement' in our day the desired goal?  I enjoy seeing what other people can do and I understand that not every day is a day when I accomplish my goal.  Some days my 'get up and go' has vanished.

However I have increased my steps over what I was doing a year ago this time.

That alone is an achievement !  Yes, moving during the day is the most important part.  How much you are able to do is different for each of us.  I can not do as much as I could do a couple of years ago, as much as I would like to.  The idea of 10K steps a day was apparently started by the manufacture of pedometers a few years ago to promote the product and has no scientific basis but it is a goal proposed by a variety of pundits.  What maters is doing what you are comfortable with.  Walking seems to be the best thing I can do to be as active as I can and I would like to do more but some days are better than others.

7283 steps yesterday.  I went shopping and got a lot of steps in that hour but my knee didn't seem to like it so I had to back off for the rest of the day.

7527 steps yesterday.  I went to a lunch meeting with a retired persons group that I belong to and that took a couple of hours.  It was fun though and I rarely go out to eat so it was a treat.  You know it was a group of older people though.  There were 16 people and no one had their phone out ignoring others.   :D

Agreed. The idea of the thread is to have your own record in one place. You can filter your own or other member's posts in any thread by clicking on red funnel icon in the User Profile on the left side of the post. That way you can compare / search what you have been doing and posting. Click again on the funnel to revert back to all posts.

8944 steps yesterday.  Thanks SKB.  I never understood how the funnel was used before.  One of the things I like about my Fitbit is that it keeps a record on their cloud of your daily activities and it gives me a weekly summary sent to my email.
