because it was raining all day outside, I did "laps" inside my house.

That is a very good attitude and approach to your goal. Take baby steps in increasing your goal. Look at 5% to 10% increments at a time. You will be amazed at yourself. We are all very proud of you.

I woke a bit early today and decided to do some workout on the treadmill. It's been a while and the toll was heavy on my body.

I walked 3.65 km in 45 minutes. That's about 4850 steps for me. But, since I was mixing incline in my walk, I consumed calories equivalent to a 5.3 km plain walk.

1070 steps today.  I had/have a ton of paperwork to go through in preparation for doing this years income tax preparation.  Today is extremely windy and cold outside, so definitely a good day for laps 'inside'.  :)

7399 steps yesterday.  I got my report from Fitbit for my totals for 2018.  It is rather impressive when you see the total for a whole year.  2,411,255 steps, 958 miles (1541 KM), 441,581 calories burned.  Over 2 million steps and I don't walk nearly as much as a lot of people.  No wonder our knees have problems.

12,948 steps yesterday.

Wow Wally! Quite the impressive number! Stepz doesn't have that. Maybe the paid version does? I'll have to look it up.

8128 steps yesterday.  Barbara, it looks like a big number, and it is, but if you walked 10K steps every day for a year it would be 3.6 million steps so it needs to be taken in perspective.  Still, a lot of steps.
Grammabear, steps to miles depends on how long a persons stride is.  That is why the number of steps is a better way to keep track of activity.  With my short legs I only have a stride of 25 inches so 10K steps for me is about 4 miles.  With a more normal 30 inch stride it would be 5 miles.

Grammabear, Stepz says it is a bit over 5 miles. My stride is around 26".

985 stepz yesterday - foot really hurting.

bigskygal - That is still a lot of walking by my definition.  I am short legged and have a 17" stride.

8406 steps yesterday.  As the days get longer I probably will increase my daily numbers.  At least as long as my knee, back etc. behave.

Grammabear, I am not pushing to reach any number other than my 7,000 goal. Getting up earlier and just walking around the house has really upped my count.

8645 steps yesterday.  I am such a sucker for something new.  I got an email from Fitbit with an offer for a discount on a new Charge 3 and I bit.  It got here yesterday and I have replaced my Alte HR with it.  There was really nothing wrong with the Alta HR but the Charge 3 does have some improvements and is kind of fun.  I'll sell the Alta HR on Ebay and recoup part of the cost.

Yeah, Grammabear, grocery shopping/errand running has a way of adding extra steps to the day's count.
