I think that the first day would be a little painful Rocky. Once you get used to it, it shouldn't be a problem.

I have the weekend off, which means that I will be walking both the days. Starting my zoomba class tomorrow.

Finished the first NYC challenge Wednesday.  That was only 8,000 steps so easy to do in one day.  Landmarks along the way :
Start at United Nations Building
Grand Central Station
New York Public Library
Avenue of the Americas
Central Park
Finish in Central Park
I am starting the next challenge today which is 24,000 steps total and I may be able to do it in two days, at least I am going to try, but if I don't I'm not going to fret about it.

10,548 steps yesterday.

Make sure you have good running shoes Rocky.  Pounding on the pavement can indeed be hard on the knees.

I have fairly decent running shoes. It's just that I haven't done that in God knows how long. Right now, I'm hurting and I will avoid all running for a couple of days.

I started with 'something' today, like i said.
15 minutes on the stationery cycle and 45 minutes on the treadmill. Not too happy about my breathlessness, but I know the more I do it, the more it will improve.

I finished the first half of the NYC partial marathon yesterday and was pleased to manage 12,500 steps so I am sure I will be able to do the whole 24,000 steps in two days.  Feeling good this morning and as of 7:70AM only 9300 steps to go.   :D
@Starsign, yep, you have to start somewhere and the more you are able to do the better it gets.

Taking the day off. Giving my legs some required rest.

Barb, that's marvellous.
Rocky, periods of rest are also required.

Here's a research article on the Benefits of Interval Training. Thought I'd share it.

I finished the "partial marathon" yesterday so 24,000 steps in two days, 10 miles.  I'm gaining a whole new insight of what running a marathon would be like, well, only a partial insight because I'm not running but a much closer look.  I think I will start the last "adventure" tomorrow which is the entire 26 mile marathon course, 57,000 steps and for me I am hoping to make it in 5 days.
Barb, you are doing really well !  Better than you thought you would do.

That is really good bigskygal. It's close to 7 miles I guess.
I walked on the weekend, an hour each day and I've also started my Zoomba classes. Lot's of gyrating movements in that. I love the atmosphere at the class. There are 12-15 women in the batch. But I have some pain that I cannot even begin to decsribe  >:(

It is nice to read how all are taking keen interest in their workouts and doing a little bit extra everyday and I am still to gain my previous standards. I am trying though. But there are too many breaks  :-[
Still on 15 min cycle + 45 min TM but that too with breaks every other day.

10,700 steps yesterday. My 7 day average is 10,202 steps!

Tomorrow I have to take the cat to the vet early in the morning so don't know if I will get as many steps in.  He is getting his lion cut and I think he will be pretty traumatized by the time I pick him up.   Maybe a lot of lap sitting...  ;)
