7152 steps, 64 min and 12/12 hours yesterday.  I really didn't think I was going to make it to 60 min for the last day of the AARP challenge but did it after all.  I am more sore this morning but hoping that will work out.

5166 steps, 43 min. and 12/12 hours yesterday.  I had a difficult start and actually had to use my cane in the morning but it seems that as I get to walking the pain goes away.  Sometimes it takes longer to get to where I can walk without hurting.  I'm still thinking there may be a pinched nerve thing going on.

Wally, must be something going around, my left hip was quite sore yesterday morning, it took half the day for me to walk the soreness out.

7113 steps, 72 min. and 12/12 hours yesterday.  I did feel better as the day went on.  I seem to be doing OK this morning.
Thanks SKB, I am glad that even though it is sometimes difficult I at least am able to walk.  Maybe not as much as I would like but still walking a fair amount and without any aids, for now at least.

7150 steps, 72 min. and 12/12 hours yesterday.  I'm thinking more and more that it must be something like a pinched nerve.  For some reason sitting down or laying down seems to bring it on and I have to get upright and walk for a bit to have it go away.  It is quite painful in my legs for a bit but when it stops I am just fine and all of the pain stops.  When I sit for a bit I have to do it over again but it is not as bad as when I get up first thing in the morning.

I recently read an article which confirms that even short bouts of exercise are helpful for the body, especially the brain.

QuoteThe study found that short-term bursts of exercise – the human equivalent of a weekly game of pickup basketball, or 4,000 steps – promoted an increase in synapses in the hippocampus. Scientists made the key discovery by analyzing genes that were increased in single neurons activated during exercise.
