Went to the gym last evening and did most of my old workout. Well, almost all of it. I'd say I'm at 80% of my old workout.

Me too, rocky. I'm at about 80-90 % of my last known levels with my workout. Today I did a mile walk/jog/run with about 2/3 rd running and full set of weights.

9,076 steps yesterday.

~ cat ~ in lap more today so maybe won't make as many steps.

Wally, that is interesting about the fitbit and the shopping cart. My app seems to count my steps even with the cart, but I am not leaning heavily on it. It is more for balance.

Yeah, I have not noticed this before and it has to be because I am putting much more weight on the cart than I usually would.  Not a big deal but interesting.
3968 steps yesterday and mostly walking with a cane.  Right now that is about the maximum I am able to do, about 1 1/2 miles for me.

Great going Wally. 4k is very good with a walking stick. I wonder if I could have done that in your situation.

Rocky, yeah, you could do the same as I have.  It does take some determination and you can't avoid pain but I am told that the best thing you can do for rehab is to walk so I am walking as much as I can.  I also do other exercises I learned in PT but walking is my main thing.  Progress seems slow and yet I am doing better than I expected.  If someone else has this happen, and it is amazing how easy it is to surprise you, I hope these posts will give them encouragement to do what is necessary.

When your step count varies from one day to the next due to 'cat time', do your feet complain?  I've only just started "counting" and it seems like my feet are doing a lot of unnecessary complaining.   :(

@Grammabear, not really, if anything bothers me it is my knees.  But that is why I walk inside where the ground is even.

Sarge took me out running to the park yesterday. We did 10 rounds which is like 3.5-4.0 kms. Man, that guy is much older than me but runs like a school kid. Today, my knees are also giving me trouble. Thank God, it's a Sunday.

3352 steps yesterday and toward the end I really began to feel it.  Almost all walking was using the cane.  My surgeon said most patients are able to use a cane instead of a walker after 6 weeks.  I actually was able to use the cane after 5 weeks and this Friday was 6 weeks.  I can get by with the cane only and even do some steps without any help so progress is still going on.  I understand that complete recovery is 3-6 months.  I am told that walking is the best thing to do for recovery so I am doing as much of that as I can along with exercises.  Lots of fun.   :)

Very inspiring bsg. You're doing your 10k alright  ;D
I reached the gym at almost closing time yesterday and I was only able to do half my workout. But a workout nevertheless.
