8,182 steps yesterday.

Went grocery shopping today.  My regular store is undergoing renovations and every time I go in things are in a different place.  The aisles change every time from one side of the store to another. The freezer cases get reorganized and I can't find anything. Very annoying.  I have to walk the whole store every time I go.  >:(  This has been going on since December, and I think it will be a long time before they finish.

This is an annoying thing many stores do so you will have to walk the aisles looking for items as they hope you will see something you didn't plan on buying and put it into your cart.  We have a new Super Walmart that opened just two months ago and they have already moved entire contents of one aisle over to new locations.  Same thing happens at the grocery stores.  I do like to get a fair amount of walking in at the stores but sometimes it just chaps my hide !   >:(

They say the store will be organized so well it will all make sense.  Not buying it.  Used to be dog and cat food were in the same aisle.  Now dog food and toilet paper are together and cat food and baby food share an aisle. No logic there. Every time I forget something from my list because I just can't find it.

The grocery store where we shop also practices this monkey-business of moving stuff around so you have to walk the whole store just to find what used to be easily accessible.  With our store being something like 24,000 square feet, walking the whole store does leave one exhausted.  By the time we get done, both my hubby and I are cross and tired and don't feel like shopping there again.  But the following week, there we are - back at the store again.   :(

This store never did play that game.  It is just since the renovations began.  At the end of Dec they said the renovations would be done in Feb.  I think more likely end of March...

If they didn't play that game before then it is doubtful they will after they are done.  Renovations often take longer than planed and are probably driving the owners nuts also.  Hopefully when all is completed things will become normal again.
The two supermarkets and the Walmart we have in this town all play that game constantly and really have no excuse for it.

Not talking about renovations, but realignment of store shelves is done with a lot of strategic planning. The idea is to make you see newer items on the racks that you are accustomed to, in the hope that you will buy some of the stuff that you've probably not seen before, or don't even need.

Of course, they do that to trigger sales. BSG, I've caught up with my full workout as of yesterday. Sarge put me through the full drill. Yes, I did complain in my mind but went through with it and felt nice about myself  ;D

I've heard some of the managers mumbling about their frustrations over the renovation.  The clerks too. So no one is really happy about things as they are now.

There is this local saying which when translated means - Never mind the falls in life, get up, dust yourself, and get on with it allover again. Wally and Bigskygal you two are the embodiment of this. Truly inspiring. Many days when I feel like skipping the gym, I ask myself, how many steps will bsg post for today, and then I rush to the gym and tell Sarge 'Here I am'.  ;D ;D

Well, I was able to do 5175 steps yesterday and that is the first time I have been able to hit 5K since my accident.  Also I didn't feel that I had over done it so that is good.  Using the cane and probably will have to for a while yet but I am able to take some steps without any help but only a few.  Still, I see progress each day.   ~clp~

7,729 steps yesterday. Grocery shopping today and errand running will help the step count...

Feeling better today, but ribs are sore still. Le sigh... Thanks Rocky, glad to be an inspiration for you.  Some days I really have to force myself, especially when I am not feeling 100%.

Nice Wally!!  Glad to hear your progress.

That's good news Barbara. Sometimes The recovery process after a fall can be long and painful.

Today being a Sunday, I've decided to carry out an experiment. I will walk for 10 km during the day, 1 km every hour starting at 08:00. I will take readings every hour to determine how my BG is behaving if physical activity is carried out throughout the day. Will post the findings.
