I don't have a pet, but many of you do.
SO Happy Pet Day everyone.  ;D

Yesterday's "lap" celebrations ended in 7,756 steps.  He's been trying to extend the celebration another day!  ;D

He is such a smart guy!  I called the vet today as he is due for shots and an exam.  She gave me the option of an appointment in about an hour from then.  Baby Boo was sleeping in my recliner and I thought I could snag him and get it done.  I should have put him in the carrier then, but I went out and pulled out the car first so I could load him in.  When I got back inside, he was gone!  Under the bed in the guest bedroom where I couldn't reach him.  He didn't come out for 3 hours.  We try again on Friday...

Managed to corral Baby boo today and get him to the vet for his shots and nail trim.  Boy is he mad at me right now!!

We know the feeling! lol! Normally mild-mannered Waylon can throw the worst hissing/growling fits when getting his nails trimmed! Shots he doesn't mind - he doesn't even mind getting his temperature taken - but nails trimmed? Katie bar the door!  ~hlp~

bigskygal

Yeah, it took 3 of us to hold him down!!  And he was really growling.
Only got the front paws done, the back were short enough and he was just not going to cooperate!!
He is OK with shots and the temp too but boy hates the nail trim!!

Yeah, and no matter how much you tell them it's for their own good they don't believe you !   ~ cat ~  ~dog~  ~wnk~

Well, 5891 steps yesterday and a lot more of them without using the cane.  I saw the Surgeon for the hip repair and he is quite happy how it has healed and I don't have to follow up anymore.  I may see him in the future for my knees but right now they are not causing me any problem.  I'm feeling pretty good right now how things have progressed and just need to keep up the walking and exercise.

Glad to hear your hip is doing so well Wally.  Nice about the steps too!

Well done Wally. You are nearly "there", in your zone. And I'm sure the cane will be thrown away soon, or may come in handy for other chores.

I have to play a cricket match on the 23rd. I'm certainly not fit enough and the training that I had in mind has been shelved for one reason or another. But there is some time left to take up a little bit of running on the treadmill.

6576 steps yesterday which was a surprise to me.  I was hoping to get at least 5K steps for the second day in a row and just kept going.  The Orthopedic Surgeon advised me to walk as much as I can without the cane and it is getting easier to do that but I can only go so far.  He also advised me to carry the cane to help with balance, don't want to fall again !  I think I can safely raise my goal from 4K to 5K and will be interested to see how it goes today.

5440 steps yesterday.  I really had doubts that I would hit 5K early in the day as I was a bit sore from Saturday.  Wow, sore from only 6K steps, well it shows that I need to keep it up.  I did make the 5K though and that is three days in a row which is also good.  It will be interesting to see how I do today.

I prob'ly should get a step counter because it's getting so I absolutely MUST get up every 20-30 minutes or face a painful rising if I sit any longer, so I'm prob'ly getting a few more steps than before. This sacroiliac joint is better, but it hasn't healed completely. I wonder if I'd even reach 1k steps a day?  ::)
