Went for a 10k run yesterday conducted by one of the companies here. I realised that my Fitbit is not working right. After completing the 10k, it showed me 7.7 kms. While all the rest of the friends had 10.5 kms clocked. I realised that my settings are off and i wear it in my non dominant hand but my setting says dominant. So it takes reduction in hand movements discounting it for eating, writing etc.

17768 steps, 26 floors, 10.88 kms (should me much more) yesterday.

Wooah.
For me, the weekends are off, so workouts begin on Monday, and today is one.

6809 steps yesterday.  I am trying to make 7K my goal and try to get there each day, knee willing, but I figured I was close enough.   ::)
CCD, my Fitbit was missing a lot of steps until the latest update.  Now it seems to be quite accurate.  Just an idea but you might want to check if you have the latest firmware installed.

ccd, I'm inspired by your 10k run. I've done a 5k recently. The 2 km I do at least once a week, some weeks thrice. I'll do the 10 k soon.

Yesterday I didn't go to gym as I was held up with some work but I did do around 20 floors. I'm not certain of the exact number but it was around 20.

Rocky- I love walking with music in my ears. I can do 10-15 kms but then will lounge in the bed rest of the day. I wish i could jog/run though. Someone told me that the posture should be straight and the heel should touch the ground first followed by the toes. My entire foot goes flat on the pavement which affects the knees. And if i focus hard on the posture, i get so conscious about doing it right that it barely qualifies as a jog  :D

I envy people who can run. They look so fit.

Paulomi, the problem with experts is that they must have an opinion, and if opinions abound then theirs must be different. Don't even think about any of this, and run for fun. Just as you did when you were a kid. Here too, start with baby steps, with a few meters initially, and build up from there. Maybe your knees will trouble you in the beginning. If your weight is OK then they won't.

6476 steps yesterday.  Not where I want to be but at least something.  I have to convert kilometers to Miles to wrap my head around what the distance is.  10K would be just over 6 miles and for me around 15,000 steps.  I was able to do that a couple of years ago, my best day was 20,000 steps, but not now.

BSG, great score. Keep it up.

ccd, I agree with skb. If you think too much about posture and what foot to put first, you won't be able to walk let alone run. Like Nike says - Just do it.

Another day of skipping gym but I managed 16 floors.

Barbara, you have had some pretty good days recently, good deal !
I need to get motivated.  I just can't seem to work myself up to making a good day.  I am just able to get 4-5K and then don't have any push to go further.
