7248 steps yesterday.  I am trying to get more steps each time I go out to walk.  That is one of my problems.  I can only go so far before I have to take a break.  I did manage over 1000 steps a couple of times and if I could manage that every time 10K would be no problem but my knee is a bit balky sometimes.

You take good care of that knee, Wally, and listen to it when it balks! It's trying to tell you it's had enough for the time being!

13,714 steps yesterday.

I agree with Shanny, Wally, baby that knee!

I agree wit them Wally. Take it easy. Slow and steady will win.

Yesterday I had to skip gym but I did remember to take the stairs everytime. As a result of that memory boost I was able to climb 31 floors. Not all at one go of course.

I have an app called Argus on my phone for counting my steps. As per recent discussions here, I downloaded the Stepz app today & compared the two. Apparently, the Apple iOS has an inherent motion sensor & that is where these Apps get the input from. Therefore both the Apps tell me that I walked 3728 steps. The difference lies in their calculations on this data. While Argus deduces the distance walked as 2.21 km, Stepz says it is 2.6 km. My error calculation on the Argus is roughly 24 % which translates to 2.74 km. So, I'm going to retain both the Apps for now. Will walk a measured distance and check the Stepz again. It is more accurate than the Argus which has a heart rate monitor, which is why I may be inclined to still keep it.

10,326 steps yesterday.  It's been a while since I was able to get 10K and I didn't mess with my knee at all.  I am OK to manage around 500 steps and then need to rest for a bit, not very long at all but for a few min. and then I can go for more and my knee is OK with that.  Yesterday I just went out and walked for more times and it added up.  Thanks for all of your concern and I won't go overboard if my knee balks I quit and that is why some days my step count is low.
SKB, yeah, I guess that is why Stepz is only available on IOS because they use the built in counter that sends data to the Apple Health App.  Interesting that the two Apps get the same step count and calculate distance different.

I find this to be true with all my activities . . . I seem to have one gear and that is LOW ( :) ), but when I tire out, it only takes a few minutes' breather to have me back up again.

They use different algorithms. They use Height, Weight, Age & Gender in different weightage to calculate the Stride. Therein lies the difference.

I did my 2km TM interspersed with 5 runs of 150 mtrs @ 8 km/hr. Just a trot but difficult after the 4 month hiatus. Anybody thinking of taking a break, keep it under 2 weeks.

10187 steps yday and 21 floors. 6.2 kms

However Monday and Tuesday were good with 16000+ steps and 23 and 47 floors on each day. Hit 10 kms on both day. Its easy for me to fit in exercise when i work from home.

@skb, I wish I had an analytical thought process like yours. Very interesting posts.

@ccd, it seems whatever I do I can not beat your floor count. I did 16 yesterday. I hope you are not counting steps/floors while coming down  ;)

8719 steps yesterday.  Down a bit but still above my 7K goal and I am going to keep my goal there for now.
SKB, interesting.  In Stepz I was able to enter my actual measured stride.  That is what most fitness trackers use so I measured it a long time ago.

ccd, I did 32 floors yesterday. Let's see if that is more than you.

And then gym in the evening.

Rocky- you did do better. I was at 27 floors. :)

Yesterday was a day with loads of work in office. 9.6k steps, 27 floors and less than 6 kms in a day.
