This was our first New Years in town and they do fireworks here also.  First time either of our dogs were around fireworks so wondered how they would react.  They both slept through it !   ;D

Glad your dogs weren't affected by the fireworks. We're like you WERE . . . too far outta town to notice.

I had promised to start exercising in the first week of January and I will. I have not yet gone to the gym but maybe I'll go today. If I miss today, for sure I'll go tomorrow.

I did a partial cardio routine at the gym and I also climbed 14 floors. My legs protested after a break of so many days.

@ccd, how are you doing ?

6697 steps as per fitbit but realistically would be around 8500 as i forgot to wear it till 10 AM. 9 floors.

rocky- need to get back on stair climbing. feeling so lazy.

walkerwally1

7963 steps yesterday. An improvement over the last few days.  Fitbit used to prompt me to get 250 steps each hour from 8 AM to 5 PM and now Stepz is looking for at least 300 steps each hour.  I have been able to keep up with that and yesterday I managed to get at least 500 steps each hour and a couple of times over 1000 steps.  I think that is even more important than total steps for me otherwise I can find myself sitting for a long time.  The best thing is that I am still not using the knee brace or cane and doing just fine.

Wally, I couldn't figure out what that line was on the hourly screen. Thanks for explaining it!!

Wally- that is the best way to do it. If you walk every hour, you reach your goal much more comfortably at the end of the day. My husband, when he is super motivated, manages to get some 22k steps done. I can never imagine how he can get any work done at his desk!

6977 steps yesterday so not quite 7K but close enough.  But, 11 hours with at least 500 steps !   Barbara, yeah, when your step count reaches that line for each hour you will see it change to green.  For me this happens at 300 steps and I guess that is set by the Stepz App.  I have no idea how it can be changed but I don't think it can.
CCD, it works for me and keeps me from sitting for long periods of time.  Some people are stuck behind a desk all day and can't do that but just getting up and moving some helps.

I'm using the free App, though there is a paid Pro version as well. In the Settings, the topmost option is Automatic Goal. If you use this the App will pick up stored data from the device & set the number of steps on its own. If not, the next option is to set your daily goal. To the right is a ">" symbol which can help you change the number. My guess is the hourly target is based on this daily goal.
