45 minutes of hard PT.  She is making it harder as I only have 2 more sessions after today.

After that I several errands to run in town.  My recliner never looked more inviting after I got the groceries put away!

I should start posting here.  My main exercise is walking and I try to get 10K steps a day.  Had to back down for a while because I put off getting cortisone injections for my knees and when I did it took some work to get my strength back in my legs but I feel like I am back now.  Yesterday 14,433 steps and hope to keep it up.

Yesterday, Saturday, I managed 12,053 steps.  Very strong winds again so most of it inside but the casinos here are quite large so it isn't hard.  After a long lay off it's nice to be getting back to what I consider normal.

Sunday, 4/17, managed 15,042 steps.  Still windy until late afternoon then it got quite nice and great for walking along the river walkway.  Yesterday, Monday, made the 4 1/2 hour drive home but managed to get 13,823 steps in so still managing to make my 10K steps in so far but today I am a bit sore and tired.  Going to be doing a bit of resting up today I think.

I kind of missed posting for a couple of days, walked each day since Monday but not as much as I had to recover from a bit of soreness from the weekend but I have improved day by day.  Yesterday 10,532 steps.  If I can just do 10K steps a day I will be happy and if I don't try to push it too hard that shouldn't be a problem.  Old bodies take a long time to recover from over exertion.   ;D

Maggie

Exercise is hard for me because as soon as I walk a few minutes my back hurts so I sit down.

Shanny

Mine does too, Maggie, but you can control your high blood sugar by eating right - eating LCHF - and you can worry less about exercise. Do what exercise you can, but make sure you eat right. Even when you're down in the dumps, you can keep good low-carb snacks at hand so you don't sabotage your control. Nuts are a good choice, so are cubes of cheese or meat.

Finally getting over the pneumonia, walked 3 miles yesterday. I was lucky I made it  :-[ For the last 2-1/2 weeks I was barely able to get my clothes on and brush my hair all on the same day  ;D

Yesterday was a 3 mile walk before work and 1-1/2 miles at lunch. Have not made it to the gym yet, maybe today?!

I'm getting inspired by all this reading. We've decided to get enrolled in a gym nearby & maybe, just maybe, even buy our own treadmill. It will have to be a folding type as we are short of space.

That's a good decision and there are lots of options in the market.

Walking has been my main form of exercise and I really enjoy walking outside except sometimes when the weather won't behave.  I have thought about a treadmill but to me it becomes more like work and not near as enjoyable.  Just a personal preference.  I live about 30 miles from town so a gym is not really a good option so I do what I can at home.  The main thing is to get moving and be consistent.  I don't see exercising doing anything for my bg but for overall well being it really helps.

Well, I walked yesterday and I thought I was close to my 10K step goal but I don't really know.  It seems my Fitbit has gone whacky  ~tnk~ but I'll see how it goes today.
